The FIVB Volleyball World League was an annual international men's volleyball competition. Created in 1990, it was the longest and richest of all the international events organized by the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB). The women's version of the competition was called FIVB Volleyball World Grand Prix. This event should not be confused with the other international volleyball competitions, the World Championship, the World Cup and the World Grand Champions Cup.
The 1999 World Men's Handball Championship was the 16th edition of the World Championship in team handball. It was held in Egypt, from 1 to 15 June, in the cities of Cairo, Ismailia and Port Said. Sweden won the championship.
The 2000 women's Olympic volleyball tournament was the tenth edition of the event, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB in conjunction with the International Olympic Committee. It was held from 16 to 30 September 2000 in the Sydney Entertainment Centre in Darling Harbour.
Kievan Rus', also known as Kyivan Rus', was a state and later an amalgam of principalities in Eastern and Northern Europe from the late 9th to the mid-13th century. Encompassing a variety of polities and peoples, including East Slavic, Norse, and Finnic, it was ruled by the Rurik dynasty, founded by the Varangian prince Rurik. The modern nations of Belarus, Russia, and Ukraine all claim Kievan Rus' as their cultural ancestor, with Belarus and Russia deriving their names from it. At its greatest extent in the mid-11th century, Kievan Rus' stretched from the White Sea in the north to the Black Sea in the south and from the headwaters of the Vistula in the west to the Taman Peninsula in the east, uniting the East Slavic tribes.
The 2002 FIVB World Grand Prix was the tenth women's volleyball tournament of its kind. The event was held over four weeks in three countries and six cities throughout Asia: Philippines, Thailand, PR China, Chinese Taipei and Japan, culminating with the final round at Hong Kong Coliseum in Hong Kong from 1 to 4 August 2002.
The 1993 FIVB World Grand Prix was the first edition of the women's volleyball tournament, annually arranged by FIVB. It was played by eight countries from 28 May to 30 June 1993. The final round was staged in Hong Kong.
The FIVB World Grand Prix 2003 was the eleventh edition of the annual women's volleyball tournament, which is the female equivalent of the Men's Volleyball World League. The 2003 edition was played by twelve countries from July 21 to August 3, 2003 with the final round held in Andria, Italy. Hosts Italy and the top five ranked teams after the preliminary rounds qualified for the last round.
The 1994 FIVB World Grand Prix was the second edition of the women's volleyball tournament, annually arranged by FIVB. It was played by eight countries from 19 August to 11 September 1994. The final round was staged in Shanghai.
The 1998 FIVB World Grand Prix was the sixth women's volleyball tournament of its kind, played by eight countries from 21 August to 13 September 1998. The final round was staged in Hong Kong.
The 2011 FIVB World Grand Prix was a women's volleyball tournament played by 16 countries from 5 to 28 August 2011. The finals were held at the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Macau, China. The United States won the tournament defeating 3–0 to Brazil in the gold medal match and Destinee Hooker won the MVP award.
The 2011 FIVB Girls Youth Volleyball World Championship was held in Ankara, Turkey, from 12 to 21 August 2011. 16 teams participated in the tournament.
The 2011 Women's South American Volleyball Championship was the 29th edition of the Women's South American Volleyball Championship, organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). It was held in Callao, Peru from September 28 to October 2, 2011.
The 2011 Boys' Youth Pan-American Volleyball Cup was the first edition of the annual men's volleyball tournament, played by six countries from July 9–17, 2011 in Mexicali, Mexico.
The 2013 Women's Junior Volleyball World Championship was held in Czech Republic, for ten days between from 21 to 30 June 2013. This was the first edition of the tournament that features 20 teams.
The 2013 Girls' Youth Pan-American Volleyball Cup takes place April 29 to May 4, in Guatemala City. The top ranked team of Pool B at the end of the round-robin preliminary phase will be granted a ticket to the 2013 Youth World Championship in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima, in Thailand, from July 26 to August 4.
The 2014 Bucharest Trophy was the first edition of the Bucharest Trophy held in Bucharest, Romania from 21 to 24 August as a pre-season international women's team handball tournament for clubs. The most recent finalists of the EHF Champions League edition appeared in the tournament, along with the hosts and others. The 2015 FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship was the eighteenth edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men's U21 World Championship, which was hosted by Mexico from 11 to 20 September 2015 in the cities of Mexicali and Tijuana.
