The Badminton Pan Am (BPA) organisation is the governing body for the sport of badminton in the Americas and is recognized as such by the Badminton World Federation - BWF. It was founded as a continental governing body on February 13, 1976 in the headquarters of the Mexican Olympic Committee in Mexico City. The Pan American Badminton Confederation was founded by Badminton Canada, the Jamaica Badminton Association, Federacion Mexicana de Badminton, Comision Nacional de Badminton Peru and the United States Badminton Association. BPAC was founded in Mexico City in 1976 and had nominated Victor Jaramillo of Mexico as President until an official election was scheduled to take place at the first Pan Am Championships the following year. The first Badminton Pan Am Championships was held in Moncton, New Brunswick-Canada, in April 1977.
The Pan American Hockey Federation is the field and Indoor hockey federation for the Americas. It consists of 30 Members. It is associated with the International Hockey Federation and hosts several continental competitions for national teams.

It was held between 12 and 23 May 2004 in London, Ontario, Canada. The tournament doubled as the qualifier to the 2006 World Cup to be held in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The winner would qualify directly while the runner-up would have the chance to obtain one of five berths at the World Cup Qualifier in Changzhou, China.
The 2000 Men's Pan American Cup was the first edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial men's international field hockey championship of the Americas organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was held from 22 June to 2 July 2000 in Havana, Cuba. The tournament doubled as the qualifier to the 2002 Hockey World Cup to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The winner would qualify directly while the teams ranked between 2nd and 5th would have the chance to obtain one of seven berths at the World Cup Qualifier in Edinburgh, Scotland.
