The 2005 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 19th edition of the Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament, played by eight countries from September 6 to September 11, 2005 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. The United States won the event over Cuba and qualified for the 2005 Women's Volleyball Grand Champions Cup, later that year in Japan. [1] Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago were the newcomers to this competition. The Dominican Republic won the bronze medal [2] and Nancy Metcalf was awarded Most Valuable Player. [3]

The 2001 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 17th edition of the Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament, played by six countries from October 10 to October 14, 2001 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The United States won the gold medal over Cuba and qualified for the 2001 FIVB World Grand Champions Cup; the Dominican Republic was third after winning over the Mexican team. Puerto Rico withdrawed and was replaced by Costa Rica; Canada and Jamaica cancelled their participation because of the recent flying problems derived by the September 11 attacks.

Niverka Dharlenis Marte Frica is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic. She played the 2012 Summer Olympics with the Dominican Republic national team ranking in fifth place. She also played the 2010 and the 2014 World Championship earning the 17th place and the fifth place and the 2011 and the 2015 FIVB World Cup with her national team ranking in the eight and seventh place. She won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games.

Elvis Dalsires Contreras de los Santos is a male volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the silver medal with the men's national team at the 2006 Pan American Cup in Mexicali, Mexico. He currently plays as a wing-spiker for Kazma sporting club.

Gina Altagracia Mambrú Casilla is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who played the 2012 Olympic Games and the 2014 World Championship ranking fifth in both competitions. She won the gold medal at the 2010 and 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games and bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games.

The 2009 Women's NORCECA Volleyball Championship was the 21st edition of the Women's Continental Volleyball Tournament, there eight countries competed from September 22 to September 27, 2009, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. The top finisher qualified for the 2009 FIVB Women's World Grand Champions Cup in Japan.

Cándida Estefany Arias Pérez is a volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the bronze medal with her native country at the 2008 NORCECA Girls' U18 Volleyball Continental Championship in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico wearing the number 15 jersey.

Jeoselyna Rodríguez Santos is a female volleyball player from the Dominican Republic, who won the bronze medal at the 2009 World Grand Champions Cup. She won the 2009 NORCECA Championship gold medal, bronze in the 2007 edition and the gold medal at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games playing with the Dominican Republic national team. Jordan Quinn Larson is an American volleyball player and a three-time Olympic medalist. Larson won gold with the national team at the 2014 World Championship, the Rimini Volleyball Nations League, and the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics, silver at the 2012 London Summer Olympics, and bronze at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Her 2020 Olympics win allowed her to complete the trifecta of winning an Olympic bronze, silver, and gold medal.

Brayelin Elizabeth Martínez is a Dominican volleyball player who won the bronze medal in the 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the Dominican Republic national team. She played in the 2014 Senior World Championship and the 2011 and 2015 FIVB World Cup.

Winifer María Fernández Pérez is a Dominican female volleyball player. With her club Mirador she competed at the 2015 FIVB Club World Championship. She became well known after a video and later some photos of her playing and training, and personal photos of her--some of them fake--went viral in July 2016.
