The 2006 NAWIRA Women's Sevens was the tournament's second edition and was held on 11 and 12 November 2006 in Garrison Savannah, Barbados. [1] [2] The competition was played as a round-robin with six teams, the USA Development Eagles won the tournament. [2]

The Rugby Americas North Women's Sevens, or RAN Women's Sevens, is the regional championship for women's international rugby sevens in North America and the Caribbean. The tournament is held over two days, typically on a weekend in November. It is sanctioned and sponsored by Rugby Americas North, which is the rugby union governing body for the region. Prior to 2016, it was referred to as the North America and Caribbean Women's Sevens.

The United States women's national rugby sevens team competes in international rugby sevens competitions. The team finished second at the 2015 USA Women's Sevens, after defeating Russia in the semifinals. They competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

The qualification process of men's teams for the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens. Automatic qualification was extended to the host and the eight quarterfinalists of the previous World Cup. The remaining spots were contested in each of the six regions' respective tournaments.

The 2008 NAWIRA Women's Sevens was a regional qualifying tournament for the inaugural 2009 Women's Rugby World Cup Sevens and was held from 24 to 26 October at the Winton Rugby Club in Nassau, Bahamas. Champions, Canada, and runner-up, the United States, qualified for the World Cup.

The 2005 NAWIRA Women's Sevens was the inaugural tournament of the NAWIRA Women's Sevens and was held on 19 and 20 November 2005 in Barbados. The competition was played as a round-robin with seven teams competing, the United States went undefeated to win the tournament. There was also an exhibition match played between USA and a combined West Indies team.

The 2007 NAWIRA Women's Sevens was the third edition of the tournament and was held on 17 and 18 November 2007, at the Winton Rugby Centre in Nassau, Bahamas. Five teams were initially expected to compete, however, Trinidad and Tobago withdrew at the eleventh hour. The tournament was played as a round-robin with Canada claiming their first title.
