The 2023 RAN Sevens are a North American rugby sevens tournament for the Rugby Americas North region of World Rugby that took place at the Starlight Stadium, Langford, British Columbia on 19 and 20 August 2023; they were held in Canada for the second time. The defending champions are Jamaica. The winners will earn qualification to the 2024 Olympics. [1]
The teams are divided into two round-robin pools and each play matches against their pool opponents. The top two sides in each pool advance to the Cup semi-finals, from which the winners advance to the final / third-place matches.
The remaining teams that did not qualify for the Cup rounds compete in a Plate round-robin pool for fifth to seventh place.
The six teams competing in British Columbia were: [2] [3]
Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and Cayman Islands withdrew before the tournament.

The Rugby Africa Cup is a two-year men's rugby union tournament involving the top 16 African nations based on their World Rugby rankings, it is organised by Rugby Africa. The tournament was first held in 2000. It was renamed the Rugby Africa Cup in November 2019, it was previously called the Africa Cup since 2006, the CAR Top 9 and CAR Top 10.
The 2007–08 IRB Sevens World Series was the ninth of an annual IRB Sevens World Series of rugby sevens tournaments for full national sides run by the International Rugby Board since 1999–2000.

An additional Americas team, Uruguay, also qualified as the Play-off winner.

The qualification process for the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan began during the pool stages of the 2015 tournament in England, during which the top three teams from each of the four pools were awarded automatic qualification for the 2019 event. A further eight teams qualified through regional, cross-regional tournaments and the repechage process.
Qualifying for the 2019 Rugby World Cup for the Americas began in March 2016, where across 3 years, 20 teams competed for two direct qualification spots into the final tournament, and one spot in the Repechage tournament. For qualification purposes, the two Americas regions Rugby Americas North and Sudamérica Rugby formed the Americas region to compete for the two Americas berths in the World Cup.
The 2021 Men's Rugby League World Cup qualification was the qualifying process which will decide the 8 teams that would join the 8 quarter-finalists from the 2017 World Cup including the hosts England, who received an automatic spot, at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup. The process commenced in June 2018, with the commencement of the 2018–19 Rugby League European Championship C tournament, which acted as the first round for European qualification.

The 2019 RAN Women's Sevens was the 15th edition of the annual rugby sevens tournament organized by Rugby Americas North. It was played at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex in George Town, Cayman Islands. Six national teams played a round robin. With Canada and the United States already eligible for the 2020 Summer Olympics by way of the 2018–19 World Rugby Women's Sevens Series, the top two finishing teams of the tournament are eligible for a 2020 repechage tournament.

The 2022 RAN Women's Sevens Qualifiers are a North American rugby sevens tournament that took place at the Thomas Robinson Stadium, Nassau on April 23 and 24, 2022; they were held in The Bahamas for the third time. Owing to the postponement of the 2022 RAN Women's Super Sevens, this event was created specifically to maintain a qualification pathway to the 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens, with one place awarded to the winner only.
