The Mexico national rugby sevens team participates in competitions such as the World Sevens Series and Rugby World Cup Sevens. Mexico finished in last place in the 2008 USA Sevens and finished sixth in the 2011 Pan American Games and eighth in the 2015 Pan American Games.

History

Mexico participated in the June 2015 NACRA Sevens, a qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Mexico went 2-1 in pool play, finishing second in the group and qualifying for the semifinals.

In June 2015, Mexico and Cayman Island qualified to the Hong Kong Sevens 2016 World Series Qualifier at the NACRA Sevens, finishing 3rd and 4th respectively.

In the beginning of 2023, French Olympian Terry Bouhraoua was appointed as the Sporting Director of Mexico Rugby Sevens. [1] [2]

Mexico competed in the first round of the 2024 World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series in Dubai. [3] They finished at the bottom of the table after losing to Papua New Guinea in the eleventh place playoff. [3] [4] Mexico ended the Challenger Series in twelfth place overall. [5]

The Ireland national rugby sevens team competes in several international rugby sevens competitions. The team is governed by the Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU).

The Uganda national rugby sevens team won the 2022 Africa Men's 7s, which were World Cup and Commonwealth Games qualifiers.

The Georgia national rugby sevens team is a minor national sevens side. They have featured at the Rugby World Cup Sevens on four occasions and compete annually at the Rugby Europe Sevens. Kelly Griffin is an American rugby sevens player and Olympian. As a member of the United States women's national rugby sevens team, she won a bronze medal at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens, and a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. She was also captain of the United States Women's Rugby Sevens team for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The Uganda women's national rugby sevens team represents Uganda in international rugby sevens. They compete annually in the Africa Women's Sevens, and have made an appearance in the 2009 Rugby World Cup Sevens at the inaugural women's tournament.

The Poland women's national rugby sevens team represents Poland in rugby sevens. They compete in the Rugby Europe Women's Sevens.
