The 2007 edition of the Technical Innovation Contest was played with teams in two groups, with the first and second-place finishers in each group advancing to an elimination stage. In the semi-finals, P'yŏngyang City defeated Kigwanch'a 2–1, and Amrokkang defeated Kyŏnggong'ŏp. In the final, P'yŏngyang City defeated Amrokkang 2–0, and Kyŏnggong'ŏp defeated Kigwanch'a 3–1 in the third place match. [1]
Pyongyang City Sports Club is a North Korean organization of physical education specialty with several departments. This organization is based in Pyongyang and plays at the Kim Il-sung Stadium. As the sports club of the Korean Workers Party and Pyongyang City Hall, it is the largest sports club not affiliated with a state ministry.
Kigwancha Sports Club or Kigwancha Sports Team is a North Korean multi-sports club belonging to the Korean State Railway and based in Pyongyang. It was established on 11 January 1956, and has been awarded the Order of Kim Il-sung and the Order of the National Flag. The club is best known for its men's and women's football teams.

The club belongs to the Korean People's Army; all members of the professional teams are considered officers of the Army.
Republican Championship was a football knockout cup competition in North Korea. The championship was launched in October, 1972. This championship was held from September through October. Initially held every autumn, after 2007 it was held only every other year. It was last held in 2011, and was replaced in 2013 by the Hwaebul Cup first held that year.

The competition was held between 15 and 28 August 2013, with all matches played at the Kim Il-sung Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases, a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals, and a single-game final.
The 2016 Hwaebul Cup was the fourth edition of the Hwaebul Cup celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 27 July and 28 August 2016, with all matches played at the Sŏsan Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases, a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals, and a single-game final. April 25 won the title for the fourth straight time.

The competition was held between 27 July and 28 August 2013, with all matches played at the Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases, a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals, and a single-game final.
The 2017 Hwaebul Cup was the fifth edition of the Hwaebul Cup celebrating North Korea's Youth Day. The competition was held between 27 July and 28 August 2017, with all matches played at the Rungrado 1st of May Stadium in P'yŏngyang. The competition was arranged in two phases, a group stage followed by a single-elimination play-off semi-finals, and a single-game final. Sobaeksu Sports Club won the competition for the first time, as the defending champion, April 25, were not entered into the competition due to their taking part in the 2017 AFC Cup. Ryŏmyŏng finished second, whilst Hwaebul and Kigwancha placed third and fourth respectively.
