The 2008 Belgian Figure Skating Championships (Dutch : Belgisch Kampioenschap 2008; French : Championnat de Belgique 2008) took place between 23 and 24 November 2007 in Hasselt. Skaters competed in the discipline of ladies' singles.

At the 1936 Winter Olympics, four speed skating events were contested. The competitions were held on Tuesday, 11 February 1936, Wednesday, 12 February 1936, Thursday, 13 February 1936, and on Friday, 14 February 1936.
Júlia Sebestyén is a Hungarian former competitive figure skater. She is the 2004 European Champion and 2002–2010 Hungarian national champion. At the 2004 European Figure Skating Championships, she became the first Hungarian woman to win the European title. She is also a four-time Hungarian Olympic team member, and was Hungary's flag-bearer at the 2010 Olympics.
Brandon Mroz is an American former competitive figure skater. He is the 2009 U.S. silver medalist and the 2006 & 2007 Junior Grand Prix Final silver medalist. He is the first skater to have completed a quadruple Lutz in a sanctioned competition.
Sergei Dmitriyevich Davydov is a former competitive figure skater who represented Belarus and Russia. For Belarus, he is the 2006 Cup of China silver medalist, two-time Nebelhorn Trophy champion, and eight-time (2001–2008) Belarusian national champion. He competed at two Olympics and placed as high as 7th at the World Championships (2003) and 4th at the European Championships (2007). For Russia, he is the 1998 World Junior silver medalist. After retirement from the competitive figure skating Davydov became a coach.
Madison Hubbell is an American former ice dancer. She competed with Zachary Donohue from 2011 to 2022. With him, she is a two-time 2022 Winter Olympics medalist, a four-time World medalist, the 2018 Grand Prix Final champion, the 2014 Four Continents champion, and a three-time U.S. national champion.
Keiffer J. Hubbell is an American ice dancer. He competed with his sister Madison Hubbell from 2001 to 2011. They are the 2010 Four Continents bronze medalists, two-time U.S. pewter medalists, and 2006 Junior Grand Prix Final champions.
Rockne Lee Brubaker, II is an American former competitive pair skater. With Keauna McLaughlin, he is the 2010 Four Continents silver medalist, the 2007 World Junior champion, and a two-time (2008–2009) U.S. national champion. With Mary Beth Marley, he is the 2012 Four Continents bronze medalist and 2012 U.S. silver medalist.
Jenna McCorkell is a former figure skater from Northern Ireland. She is an eleven-time British national champion and won seven senior international medals, including gold at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial and Ice Challenge. She placed as high as eighth at the European Championships (2008) and 14th at the World Championships, and competed at two Winter Olympics.
The Japan or All-Japan Figure Skating Championships are a figure skating national championship held annually since 1930, to determine the national champions of Japan. Skaters compete in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing, although not every discipline has been held every year due to a lack of competitors. Skaters compete at the senior level; Junior level skaters compete at the Japan Junior Figure Skating Championships.
Alla Oleksandrivna Beknazarova is a former competitive ice dancer. She is a three-time Ukrainian national champion — in 2001 with Yuriy Kocherzhenko and in 2007 and 2008 with Vladimir Zuev. Her best ISU Championship result, fourth, came at the 2001 World Junior Championships, competing with Kocherzhenko.
The 2000–01 ISU Junior Grand Prix was the fourth season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix, a series of international junior level competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was the junior-level complement to the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, which was for senior-level skaters. Skaters competed in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. The top skaters from the series met at the Junior Grand Prix Final.
Liselotte Landbeck was an Austrian athlete who competed at a high level in both figure skating and speed skating in the 1930s. In figure skating, she won the bronze medal at the 1934 World Championships.
Eline Berings is a Belgian retired athlete, who competed in the 100 m hurdles. She is the 2005 European junior champion, and took her first medal as a senior by winning the 2009 European Indoor Championships. Her personal best times are 12.72 and 7.92 in the 100 and 60 m hurdles respectively.

The 2008 Latvian Figure Skating Championships was held in Riga from December 26 to 28, 2007. Skaters competed in the disciplines of ladies' singles and Ice dance.
Kevin van der Perren is a Belgian former competitive figure skater. He is the 2007 & 2009 European bronze medalist, a three-time Grand Prix medalist, and an eight-time Belgian national champion. Van der Perren was the flagbearer for Belgium at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics.
Ruben Blommaert is a retired Belgian-born German pair skater. With his skating partner, Alisa Efimova, he is the 2022 Grand Prix of Espoo silver medalist.
