The National Basketball Association (NBA) is an American men's professional basketball league. It is composed of 30 teams and is one of the four major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada. It is the premier men's professional basketball league in the world.
The Washington Football Team are a professional American football team based in the Washington metropolitan area. Formerly known as the Washington Redskins, the team competes in the National Football League (NFL) as a member of the NFC East division. The team plays its home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland, with its headquarters and training facility located in Ashburn, Virginia. The team has played more than 1,000 games and is one of only five in the NFL to record over 600 total wins. It was the first NFL franchise with an official marching band and a fight song, "Hail to the Redskins".
The Los Angeles Lakers are an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Lakers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league's Western Conference Pacific Division. The Lakers play their home games at Staples Center, an arena shared with the NBA's Los Angeles Clippers, the Los Angeles Sparks of the Women's National Basketball Association, and the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League. The Lakers are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NBA, and have won 17 NBA championships, tied for the most along with the Boston Celtics.
Duane Charles "Bill" Parcells, also known as "The Big Tuna", is a former American football coach who was a head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 19 seasons. He rose to prominence as the head coach of the New York Giants, which he led to two Super Bowl titles. Parcells later served as the head coach of the New England Patriots, New York Jets, and Dallas Cowboys. Throughout his career, he coached teams that were in a period of decline and turned them into postseason contenders. He is the only coach in NFL history to lead four teams to the playoffs and three teams to a conference championship game.
Patrick James O’Riley is an American professional basketball executive and a former coach and player in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has been the team president of the Miami Heat since 1995, and he also served as the team's head coach from 1995 to 2003 and again from 2005 to 2008. As a player, he played for the Lakers' championship team in 1972. Regarded as one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time, Riley has won five NBA championships as a head coach, including four with the Los Angeles Lakers during their Showtime era in the 1980s and one with the Heat in 2006.
William Felton Russell is an American former professional basketball player who played center for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA) from 1956 to 1969. A five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a 12-time All-Star, he was the centerpiece of the Celtics dynasty that won eleven NBA championships during his 13-year career. Russell and Henri Richard of the National Hockey League are tied for the record of the most championships won by an athlete in a North American sports league. Russell led the San Francisco Dons to two consecutive NCAA championships in 1955 and 1956, and he captained the gold-medal winning U.S. national basketball team at the 1956 Summer Olympics.
Nicholas Lou Saban Jr. is an American football coach who has been the head football coach at the University of Alabama since 2007. Saban previously served as head coach of the National Football League's Miami Dolphins and at three other universities: Louisiana State University (LSU), Michigan State University, and the University of Toledo. Saban is considered by many to be the greatest coach in college football history. Saban's career record as a college head coach is 247-65–1.
William Stephen Belichick is an American professional football coach who serves as the head coach of the New England Patriots of the National Football League (NFL). He exercises extensive authority over the Patriots' football operations, effectively making him the team's general manager as well. He holds numerous coaching records, including winning a record six Super Bowls as the head coach of the Patriots, and two more as defensive coordinator for the New York Giants. He is widely considered to be one of the greatest coaches in NFL history by current and former players, his peers, and the press.
Philip Douglas Jackson is an American former professional basketball player, coach, and executive in the National Basketball Association (NBA). A power forward, Jackson played 12 seasons in the NBA, winning NBA championships with the New York Knicks in 1970 and 1973. Jackson was the head coach of the Chicago Bulls from 1989 to 1998, leading them to six NBA championships. He then coached the Los Angeles Lakers from 1999 to 2004 and again from 2005 to 2011; the team won five league titles under his leadership. Jackson's 11 NBA titles as a coach surpassed the previous record of nine set by Red Auerbach. He also holds the NBA record for the most combined championships, winning a total of 13 as a player and a coach.
Anthony Kevin Dungy is a former professional American football safety, coach, and sports analyst who served as a head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts. Dungy's teams became perennial postseason contenders under his leadership, missing playoffs only twice in Tampa Bay. He led the Colts to victory in Super Bowl XLI, making him the first black head coach to win the Super Bowl.
Andrew Walter Reid is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). Reid was previously the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, a position he held from 1999 to 2012. From 2001 to 2012, he was also the Eagles' executive vice president of football operations, effectively making him the team's general manager. He began his professional coaching career as an offensive assistant for the Green Bay Packers from 1992 to 1998, with whom he won a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXI.
Romeo Crennel is an American football coach who is the interim head coach for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs, as well an assistant coach for six NFL teams and four college teams. He also has over 40 years of coaching experience which has included consistently being employed as a coach for all but two seasons since 1970, only taking the 2009 and 2013 seasons off following both of his tenures as a head coach. His overall record in five seasons as a head coach and three games as an interim head coach is 29–56, with one winning season and no playoff appearances. He has five Super Bowl wins as assistant coach, two with the New York Giants and three with the New England Patriots.
Glenn Anton "Doc" Rivers is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played as a point guard in the NBA and was known for his defense, a trait that has carried over into his coaching. Rivers was an NBA All-Star in 1988.
Jeffrey William Van Gundy is an American basketball coach and commentator for ESPN. He has previously been the head coach of the New York Knicks and the Houston Rockets in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
Jason Calvin Garrett is an American football coach and former player who is the offensive coordinator for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys during the 2010s. Before that, Garrett was the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach of the Cowboys before being promoted to interim head coach after the firing of Wade Phillips in late 2010. Garrett was a college football quarterback at Princeton University, and also played for the Cowboys, New York Giants, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Miami Dolphins.
Erik Jon Celino Spoelstra is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach for the Miami Heat of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Of Filipino descent from his mother's side, Spoelstra is the first Asian-American head coach in the history of the four major North American sports leagues and the first Asian-American head coach to win an NBA championship.
Frank Paul Vogel is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He has also been the head coach for the Indiana Pacers and Orlando Magic. Vogel previously served as an assistant coach of the Pacers, Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics. He coached the Lakers to their 17th championship, and his first, over the Miami Heat in the 2020 NBA Finals.
The Voice is an American singing competition television series broadcast on NBC. It premiered during the spring television cycle on April 26, 2011. Based on the original The Voice of Holland, and part of The Voice franchise it has aired eighteen seasons and aims to find currently unsigned singing talent contested by aspiring singers, age 13 or over, drawn from public auditions.
Adam Joseph Gase is an American football coach who is the head coach of the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL). He came to prominence as the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos from 2013 to 2014, whose offense set the NFL record for points scored in 2013 and helped the team reach Super Bowl XLVIII. Gase also served as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2016 to 2018.
Joseph F. Judge is an American football coach who is the head coach of the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He previously spent eight seasons working as an assistant coach for the New England Patriots. The Patriots won three Super Bowls during Judge's tenure.
