2009–10 LEN Women's Champions' Cup

The 2009-10 LEN Women's Champions' Cup was the 23rd edition of LEN's premier competition for women's water polo clubs. It was contested by sixteen teams from ten countries, running from 18 December 2009 to 10 April 2010. [1] Defending champion NC Vouliagmeni, which hosted the Final Four, defeated Kinef Kirishi in the final to win its second title. [2] Orizzonte Catania was third and Olympiacos CFP fourth.

Filip Filipović is a Serbian professional water polo player widely considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was a member of the Serbia men's national water polo teams that won bronze medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and gold medals in 2016 and 2020. He also held the world title in 2009 and 2015 and the European title in 2003, 2006, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018. He was named Most Valuable Player at the 2011 World Championships. He was also voted as the male water polo "World Player of the Year" in 2009, 2011, 2014 and 2021 by the FINA magazine. He played for Pro Recco in Italy and won three LEN Champions League and three LEN Super Cup with them. Currently, he plays for Novi Beograd.

His most notable achievement with the Serbia national water polo team are the golden medal from the 2012 European Championship held in Eindhoven and the silver medal from the 2011 World Championship in Shanghai. Felipe Perrone Rocha is a Spanish-Brazilian water polo player. He competed for Spain from 2003 until 2013, including in the 2008 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. Afterwards he competed for his birth country in the 2016 Summer Olympics, as Brazil earned its first qualifying spot in 32 years as hosts. He helped Spanish water polo club CN Atlètic-Barceloneta win the LEN Champions League in 2013–14 season. His brother Ricardo Perrone also competed for Spain in water polo.

Dušan Mandić is a Serbian water polo player who plays for Ferencváros. He was a part of the Montenegrin junior water polo team before opting to play for Serbia. With Serbian junior national team he won a gold medal at the 2011 Junior Water Polo World Championship. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed for the Serbia men's national water polo team in the men's event.

The Greek Women's Water Polo A1 League is the premier championship for women's water polo teams in Greece. It was founded in 1988, and it is currently contested by twelve teams. Greek League is ranked as one of the top national domestic leagues in European water polo. The champion, the runner-up and the third-placed team qualify for the LEN Euro League.

Olympiacos Women's Water Polo Club is the women's water polo department of the major Greek multi-sport club Olympiacos, based in Piraeus. The department was founded in 1988 and they play their games at the 1000-seated Papastrateio "Petros Kapagerof" Pool in Piraeus.
