College Hockey America (CHA) was a college ice hockey conference in the United States. It participated in the NCAA's Division I as a hockey-only conference. The conference's final membership featured six women's teams, with three in Pennsylvania; two in New York, and one in Missouri.

The Purple Eagles were the third most improved team in the NCAA. The Purple Eagles only won 6 games in 2008–09. Compared to 2009–10, the Purple Eagles won 14 games, an 8 win improvement.

The 2008–09 Wayne State Warriors women's ice hockey season head coach was Jim Fetter. Assisting Fetter was Nicolette Franck and Allison Rutledge. The equipment manager was Jim Campbell while the assistant athletic trainer was Katie Lang.

The Rensselaer Engineers represent Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. The Engineers are playing their fourth season in ECAC Hockey. The Engineers are coached by John Burke, and he is the Engineers all-time winningest coach (118-82-21). He is in his seventh season as head coach. His assistant coaches are Colette Bredin-Youlen and Rob Dils. Kevin Anderson is the Hockey Operations Coordinator. The Engineers play their home games in the Houston Field House. They are a member of the Eastern College Athletic Conference and will attempt to win the NCAA Women's Ice Hockey Championship. During the season, the team won 16 games. It is the second highest mark in school history since joining Division 1. The record is still 19 wins, which was set in 2008-09 (19-14-4). Rensselaer is 16-14-6 overall and finished with an 11-7-4 mark in ECAC Hockey. The Engineers rank 11th nationally in scoring defense.

Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Syracuse University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I and Atlantic Hockey America (AHA). The Orange joined AHA at the conference's creation after the 2023–24 season, when College Hockey America (CHA), the Orange's home since the 2008–09 season, merged with the Atlantic Hockey Association. Syracuse plays its home games at Tennity Ice Skating Pavilion in Syracuse, New York.

The Wayne State Warriors women's ice hockey is a defunct college ice hockey program represented at Wayne State University. The Warriors competed at the NCAA Division I level in the Great Lakes Women's Hockey Association from 1999–2002 and in College Hockey America 2002–2011.

The 2010–11 Syracuse Orange season was their third season. The Orange competed in the College Hockey America conference and were unable to win the NCAA Championship. The Orange were the host club for the 2011 CHA Tournament and appeared in the CHA championship game losing to Mercyhurst by a 5–4 score.

The Niagara Purple Eagles were unable to attempt to qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history. Goaltender Jenni Bauer was named All-CHA First Team for the second consecutive season.

During the 2010-11 season of Wayne State Warriors women's ice hockey, a defunct American college ice hockey program represented at Wayne State University, Delayne Brian distinguished herself as a defensive player, making large numbers of saves and winning many awards. Penn State Nittany Lions women's ice hockey is a college ice hockey program that has represented Penn State University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I since the 2012–13 season. The Nittany Lions were members of College Hockey America (CHA) from their first season through the 2023–24 season, after which CHA merged with the Atlantic Hockey Association to form Atlantic Hockey America.

The Mercyhurst Lakers women's hockey team will represent Mercyhurst College in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Lakers were coached by Michael Sisti and won the regular season College Hockey America championship. During the season, the Lakers only carried 17 skaters, but the club won its 12th consecutive regular season title. In addition, the squad qualified for the NCAA tournament for the eighth consecutive season, an NCAA Division I women's hockey record. The Lakers finished 22–8–3 overall, and were defeated by top-seed Wisconsin, 3–1, in the NCAA quarterfinals.

Wayne State was to begin its 13th season of women’s ice hockey on September 30, 2011. In its twelve existing seasons, the Warriors compiled a won-loss record of 138-209-29. In College Hockey America conference play, the program accumulated an all-time CHA mark of 48-59-7 (.452) in nine seasons. In 2007-08, Wayne State tied for the CHA regular-season title in 2007-08. Senior forward Alyssa Baldin was to serve as captain for the second consecutive year. Of note, Baldin was the Warriors active scoring leader. Wayne State was the only Division I women’s program in Michigan.

The Niagara Purple Eagles represent Niagara University in College Hockey America. The Purple Eagles attempted to qualify for the NCAA tournament for the second time in school history.

Hillary Pattenden is a Canadian former ice hockey goaltender who played with the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program from 2008 to 2012. She held the NCAA Division I goaltender all-time most career wins title for 415 days, beginning on December 14, 2011, when she broke Jessie Vetter’s record of 91 wins until her own 100-win record was broken by Minnesota‘s Noora Räty on February 1, 2013. She was the first goaltender ever selected with the first overall pick in the CWHL, selected by the Calgary Inferno in the 2012 CWHL Draft, though she never played in the league and did not opt to pursue playing hockey in her post-collegiate career.

Delayne Brian is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Brian helped the Inferno capture the 2016 Clarkson Cup championship, where she was recognized as Playoff MVP.
