The Cape Town International Challenge was an international tournament which took place in April 2010. The competition was created by the South African Football Association to try out the new infrastructure in time for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. [1] The competition was won by the Nigerian under 20 national football team.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup, also branded as South Africa 2010, was the 19th FIFA World Cup, the world championship for men's national football teams. It took place in South Africa from 11 June to 11 July 2010. The bidding process for hosting the tournament finals was open only to African nations. In 2004, the international football federation, FIFA, selected South Africa over Egypt and Morocco to become the first African nation to host the finals.

The draw was made on 16 May 2012. The tournament is open to players under 20 years of age. It is considered to be a successor to the 2010 Cape Town International Challenge.
