The 2010 Jalaun district bus crash occurred on 17 February 2010 when a bus with approximately 70 passengers, mostly wedding guests, crashed into the Yamuna River at around midnight. It killed 22 of the passengers with at least 13 still unaccounted for. [1]

At around midnight on 17 February 2010, a bus heavily laden with passengers coming back from a wedding, lost control on a makeshift bridge spanning the Yamuna River in Jalaun District of Uttar Pradesh in India. 40 people on the bus managed to escape, by breaking windows, however 22 lost their lives, whilst 13 are still unaccounted for, presumed drowned. Local authorities worked throughout the morning to free trapped people inside the bus and helped save many lives. There is no word on whether the bride and groom who were believed to also be travelling on the bus survived the incident. [2]

Uttar Pradesh is a state considered to be part of central, northern and north-central India. Abbreviated as UP, it is the most populous state in the Republic of India as well as the most populous country subdivision in the world. It is located in the north-central region of the Indian subcontinent, has over 200 million inhabitants. It was created on 1 April 1937 as the United Provinces of Agra and Oudh during British rule, and was renamed Uttar Pradesh in 1950. The state is divided into 18 divisions and 75 districts with the capital being Lucknow. The main ethnic group is the Hindavi people, forming the demographic plurality. On 9 November 2000, a new state, Uttarakhand, was carved out from the state's Himalayan hill region. The two major rivers of the state, the Ganga and Yamuna, join at Allahabad (Prayagraj) and then flow as the Ganges further east. Hindi is the most widely spoken language and is also the official language of the state.

The 2009 Gianh River boat accident occurred on 25 January 2009 on the Gianh River near Quảng Hải Village, in the Quảng Trạch District of Quảng Bình Province in Vietnam. Sinking of ML <i>Mostofa-3</i>

On 22 February 2015, a two-deck ferry traveling on the Padma River in the Manikganj District, Dhaka Division in Dhaka, Bangladesh, capsized. Up to 70 people, including 19 children, were killed in the crash when it hit a trawler.
