As of 2010, by the reformation announced in November 2009, Division 1 and Division 2 was renamed as Nadeshiko League and Challenge League respectively. Also, the number of participating teams became 10 teams for Nadeshiko League from 8, and 12 teams for Challenge League, from 8, dividing into 2 sections of 6 teams. [1]

The Japan Women's Football League, commonly known as the Nadeshiko League, is a semi-professional women's association football league in Japan.

The 2002 Japan Football League was the fourth season of the Japan Football League, the third tier of the Japanese football league system.

Speranza Osaka is a women's football team which plays in Japan's Nadeshiko League Division 1. It founded the league in 1990. From the 2019 season, the club has adopted the new name as "Speranza Osaka-Takatsuki".

The 2013 Nadeshiko League season was won by INAC Kobe Leonessa, who defended their 2012 title.

The 2014 Nadeshiko League season was won by Urawa Red Diamonds Ladies, who 3 times title.

The 2015 Nadeshiko League season was won by NTV Beleza, who have won the title 13 times.

The 2016 Nadeshiko League for Japan's women's association football Nadeshiko League was won by NTV Beleza, who have won the title 14 times.

The 2017 L.League season was the 29th edition since its establishment. NTV Beleza were the defending champions, having won the Division 1 title in each of the past two seasons. The season began in March 2017 and ended in October 2017. NTV Beleza won the season, making it their 15th Division 1 title.

The 2020 Nadeshiko League was the 32nd season of the Nadeshiko League, the main league for women's association football in Japan. It was also the 16th season in its current format.

The 2022 Empress's Cup is the 44th season of the Japanese women's football main cup competition. All the non-relegated teams from the 1st and 2nd division of the 2021 Nadeshiko League automatically qualified to the first and second round, while all 11 teams from the 2022–23 WE League earned an automatic entry to the Round of 16.
