The Bemidji State Beavers women's ice hockey team represented Bemidji State University and participated in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. This was the Beavers final season in the John S. Glas Field House. For the 2010–11 season, the Beavers will move into the Bemidji Regional Events Center. Goaltender Zuzana Tomčíková represented her homeland of Slovakia in Ice hockey at the 2010 Winter Olympics. Bemidji State doubled their win production compared to the 2008–09 season, when the Beavers claimed only six victories.

She was a member of the Slovak women's national ice hockey team from age 12 to 26, and represented Slovakia in the 2010 Winter Olympics and at several IIHF Women's World Championships. As a member of the Slovak women's national ball hockey team, she won silver medals at the Ball Hockey World Championship in 2009 and 2013, bronze in 2015, and placed fourth in 2017.

The 2011–12 Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey season represented the University of Minnesota during the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. They were coached by Brad Frost in his fifth season. The Gophers won their third NCAA women's Frozen Four championship.

The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs women's hockey team represented the University of Minnesota Duluth in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Bulldogs attempted to win their sixth NCAA women's Frozen Four championship. The school hosted two postseason events: the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four Championship, and the 2011 WCHA's Final Face-Off, both at AMSOIL Arena. Of note, head coach Miller was chair of the Ethics Committee for US women's college hockey. In addition, she was a member of the NCAA Division 1 Championships Committee, one of only two coaches in the entire country to serve on both committees.

The Ohio State Buckeyes women's ice hockey team represented Ohio State University in the 2011–12 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Buckeyes attempted to win their first NCAA women's Frozen Four championship. Canadian Natalie Spooner entered her senior season with the Buckeyes. Spooner ranked second in career goals with 69 and was sixth in Buckeyes career points with 113.

The Wisconsin Badgers represented the University of Wisconsin in WCHA women's ice hockey during the 2014-15 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Badgers won the WCHA Tournament, and were one of the best teams in the nation, falling in the Frozen Four to their rivals, Minnesota.

Stephanie Anderson is an American ice hockey player, currently playing for the Minnesota Whitecaps in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She previously competed for the Bemidji State Beavers women's ice hockey program and was a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team that won the gold medal at the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship.

The Wisconsin Badgers represented the University of Wisconsin in WCHA women's ice hockey during the 2016-17 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Badgers appeared in the NCAA Championship Game, losing to the Clarkson Golden Knights 0-3.
