The 2011 Magny-Cours Superbike World Championship round was the twelfth round of the 2011 Superbike World Championship. It took place on the weekend of September 30 and October 1–2, 2011 at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, France.

The 2011 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-fourth season of the Superbike World Championship. It began on 27 February at Phillip Island and finished on 16 October in Portimão after 13 rounds.

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours motorsport track in France

Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours is a motor racing circuit located in central France, near the towns of Magny-Cours and Nevers, some 250 km from Paris and 240 km from Lyon.

Carlos Checa became 2011 Superbike World Champion after winning Race 1, while Ducati claimed the Manufacturers' Championship after Race 2. In Supersport, Chaz Davies, who finishing sixth in the race, secured his title with one round remaining.

Carlos Checa Motorcycle rider

Carlos Checa is a Spanish former professional motorcycle road racer and winner of the 2011 Superbike World Championship. After racing in 500 cc and MotoGP for over a decade, mostly on Honda and Yamaha machinery with and without full manufacturer support, he moved to the Superbike World Championship on a Honda for 2008. He has two Grand Prix victories. He has a younger brother, David Checa, also a motorcycle racer who competed in the Superbike World Championship for 2008.

Ducati Corse

Ducati Corse is the racing team division of Ducati Motor Holding S.p.A. that deals with the firm's involvement in motorcycle racing. It is directed by Claudio Domenicali and is based in Borgo Panigale, Bologna. More than one hundred people work in Ducati Corse. Ducati Corse currently competes in MotoGP, the Superbike World Championship and other national championships. Between 1998 and 2004 the racing division existed as a subsidiary company named Ducati Corse S.r.l. and fully owned by Ducati Motor Holding. To date, Ducati has one MotoGP world championship for both rider and manufacturer, with Casey Stoner in 2007. In addition Ducati has won multiple Superbike world championships, with Carl Fogarty and Troy Bayliss being the most successful riders.

Supersport World Championship

The Supersport World Championship, short WorldSSP, is a motorcycle racing competition on paved surfaces, based on mid-sized sports motorcycles. Competition machines are based on 600-750cc - depending on the number of cylinders - production-based motorcycles. The championship runs as a support class to the Superbike World Championship, which is similarly based on large production-based sports motorcycles. The championship, organized and promoted as its parent series by FGSport—renamed Infront Motor Sports in 2008—until 2012 and by Dorna from the 2013 season onwards, is sanctioned by the FIM.

Noriyuki Haga Japanese motorcycle racer

Noriyuki Haga (芳賀紀行), is a Japanese professional motorcycle racer. Haga was a top contender in the Superbike World Championship, finishing as runner-up three times, and has finished third in the championship series four times. Fonsi Nieto Spanish motorcycle racer

Alfonso González Nieto is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer and the nephew of successful Grand Prix motorcycle road racer Ángel Nieto. After success in the 250cc class he moved to World Superbikes and made one MotoGP start. For 2010 he returned to the Grand Prix scene in the newly formed Moto2 category. The season started on 25 February at Losail, and finished on 8 October at Magny-Cours after 12 rounds and 24 races. 2005 Superbike World Championship

The 2005 Superbike World Championship was the eighteenth FIM Superbike World Championship season. The season started on 26 February at Losail and finished on 9 October at Magny-Cours after 12 rounds and 23 races. 2005 saw the return of the Japanese manufacturers with major teams from all four Japanese manufacturers ran through European importers' teams.

The 2008 Superbike World Championship was the twenty-first season of the Superbike World Championship. Corona Extra ceased to be the championship's title sponsor, as it had been since 1998. The electronics manufacturer HANNspree took over as the title sponsor in 2008 and this arrangement remained in place until 2010, with the championship officially known as the "HANNspree SBK Superbike World Championship".

The 2004 Superbike World Championship was the seventeenth FIM Superbike World Championship season. The season started on 29 February at Valencia and finished on 3 October at Magny-Cours after 11 rounds. The traditional Japanese round at Sugo was replaced with a new Canadian round which was scheduled for 4 July at the Mont-Tremblant, near Quebec. Though no explanation was given for the change, it was seen as some form of revenge after the refusal of the Japanese manufacturers to back the 2004 rules. The Canadian round was eventually canceled after a circuit inspection determined that the amount of work necessary to bring the venue up to WSBK standard could not be carried out in time for the proposed date.
