James Michael Toseland is an English former motorcycle racer and a current vocalist of an English rock band Toseland (Band). Toseland was the 2007 World Superbike Champion on a Ten Kate Honda, and also won the 2004 Superbike World Championship on a Ducati. He is one of only two men, the other being Troy Corser, to have won the World Superbike Championship for two different manufacturers. On 9 September 2011 he officially retired from professional motorsport due to a wrist injury sustained in March 2011 at an official World Superbike Championship testing session at Motorland Aragon, Spain.
Noriyuki Haga (芳賀紀行), is a Japanese professional motorcycle racer. Haga was a top contender in the Superbike World Championship, finishing as runner-up three times, and has finished third in the championship series four times. He currently competes in the CIV Supersport 600 Championship, aboard a Yamaha YZF-R6.
Régis Laconi is a French former professional motorcycle racer. In 2009 he competed in the Superbike World Championship for DFX on a Ducati. He was runner-up in 2004, and has won races in both Grand Prix in 500cc engine capacity classification and the Superbike World Championship.
Karl Muggeridge born 20 April 1974 in Tweed Heads, New South Wales, Australia is a former professional motorcycle racer. He is married to Isobel, and has one son, Ryan Luca. He won the Supersport World Championship in 2004, and then raced in Superbike World Championship, primarily on Hondas.

Each round has two races and the results of each race are combined to determine two annual World Championships, one for riders and one for manufacturers.

The season started on 29 February at Valencia and finished on 3 October at Magny-Cours after 11 rounds. The traditional Japanese round at Sugo was replaced with a new Canadian round which was scheduled for 4 July at the Mont-Tremblant, near Quebec. Though no explanation was given for the change, it was seen as some form of revenge after the refusal of the Japanese manufacturers to back the 2004 rules. The Canadian round was eventually canceled after a circuit inspection determined that the amount of work necessary to bring the venue up to WSBK standard could not be carried out in time for the proposed date.

The 2013 FIM Superstock 1000 Cup was the fifteenth season of the FIM Superstock 1000 Cup, the ninth held under this name. It began on 7 April at Aragón and finished on 20 October in Jerez after 9 rounds. Sylvain Barrier returned on the BMW he won the title with in 2012. The first few rounds were hotly contested between Barrier, Eddi La Marra and his team mate and former Superstock 1000 champion Niccolò Canepa. Unfortunately for La Marra, he would have a massive accident during testing which left him with in a coma and unable to complete the final three rounds of the championship on his Ducati Panigale. Barrier won 5 of the 9 races to retain his championship title, doing so at his home event at Magny-Cours. Despite skipping the final round at Jerez – to compete in the Superbike World Championship event – Barrier beat Canepa to the title by 24 points, with Jérémy Guarnoni a further point behind in third place.

The Buriram International Circuit is a motorsport race track in Buriram, Buriram Province, Thailand. The circuit was opened in 2014. This is the first FIA Grade 1 and FIM Grade A circuit in Thailand. The track's primary corporate sponsor is Chang Beer, named the track as part of the sponsorship; however, because of laws regarding alcohol sponsorship in France and Qatar, the circuit uses the non-commercial name in FIM documentation.
