The 2011 Pan American Women's Handball Championship was the eleventh edition of the Pan American Women's Handball Championship, held from 28 June to 2 July 2011, in São Bernardo do Campo, Brazil. The tournament also served as the qualification event for the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship, with the top three teams winning the right to participate on the World Championship. However, since Pan American Championship winners Brazil already qualified as the host nation, fourth placed Uruguay was awarded the third spot, that was reserved for the zone. [1]
Cuba, Venezuela and the United States played a qualification tournament at Havana, Cuba to determine the last 2 participating nations.

Team advanced to the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship |
Qualification matches for the 2007 World Men's Handball Championship took place January 3 to June 18, 2006. 2006, mostly as continental championships. According to the IHF rules, each continent had three places, and the host (Germany) and holders (Spain) were automatically qualified. The other nine places are allocated to the continents according to performance in the 2005 World Men's Handball Championship. Thus:
Brazil sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, in August 2008. Brazilian athletes have competed in every Summer Olympic Games since 1920, except the 1928 Summer Olympics. The country is represented by the Brazilian Olympic Committee. Brazil headed to the Beijing Games with its largest Olympic delegation at the time, 277 athletes, including 132 women.
The 13th American Handball Championship, also called PanAmericano 2008, was the 13th edition of the Pan American Men's Handball Championship, held from 24 to 28 June 2008 in São Carlos, Brazil. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2009 World Men's Handball Championship, securing three vacancies for the World Championship. These places were earned by Brazil, Argentina and Cuba.
The 2010 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was held in Italy from 25 September to 10 October 2010. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. It was held from 23 to 29 June 2014 in Uruguay. It also acted as the qualifying competition for the 2015 World Men's Handball Championship, securing three vacancies for the World Championship.
Handball competitions at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto will be held from July 16 to 25 at the Direct Energy Centre. Due to naming rights the arena will be known as the latter for the duration of the games. A total of eight men's and women's teams will compete in each respective tournament.

Water polo competitions at the 2022 South American Games in Asuncion, Paraguay were held from 11 to 15 October 2022 at the Centro Acuático Nacional cluster.
The women's qualification for the Olympic handball tournament occurred between November 2022 and April 2024, assigning quota places to the twelve squads for the Games: the hosts, the world champion, four continental champions, and six teams from the IHF World Olympic qualifying tournaments, respectively.
Basque pelota competitions at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile are scheduled to be held at the Spanish Stadium located in Las Condes between October 31 and November 5, 2023.
