The FIE Fencing World Cup is an international fencing competition held by the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime. In each weapon, three Grand Prix, five World Cup events and several satellite events are contested each season. The five top results as well as the Olympic Games or World Fencing Championships and zonal championships results are taken into account for each fencer's rankings. For teams, up to five World Cup events are held each year. The four top results as well as the Olympic Games or World Fencing Championships and zonal championships are taken into account for each country's rankings.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Fencing at the 2012 Summer Olympics</span>

The fencing competitions at the 2012 Olympic Games in London were held from 28 July to 5 August at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre. Ten events were contested. The International Fencing Federation (FIE) had pushed for the inclusion of two more team events, but the International Olympic Committee voted to keep the current format of ten events.

Qualification will be primarily based on the FIE Official Ranking as of April 2, 2012, with further individual places available at 4 zonal qualifying tournaments. Teams will be composed of 3 fencers. For teams to qualify they must be ranked in the top 16, if a continent is not ranked in the top 16 the next best placed country will take their spot.

The 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship was the first round of qualifications for the 2013 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final tournament.

GO-GO Gent Roller Derby is a women's flat track roller derby league based in Ghent, Belgium. Founded in 2008, the league currently consists of an All-star travel team and a B-team which compete against teams from other leagues. GO-GO Gent is a member of the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA).

Nicole Ross is an American foil fencer. Fencing for the Columbia Lions fencing team, she won the 2010 NCAA individual women's foil title, and was a three time All-American. At the 2012 Summer Olympics she competed in individual women's foil, coming in 25th, while in the team event she and her teammates came in sixth. At the 2018 World Championships, she and her Team USA teammates won the gold medal in the women's team foil event.

Andrea Cassarà of Italy won the title for a record fifth time in men's foil, while Romania's Ana Maria Brânză ended up the top-ranked fencer in women's épée for a record third time. The World Cup medals were awarded during the FIE's gala dinner in Paris at the Automobile Club de France on 30 November 2013.
