The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Of its current 11 full members located in four Northeastern states such as Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland.
The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Participating schools are located principally in the Northeastern United States, from which the conference derives its name.
The MAAC men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in basketball for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The tournament has been held every year since 1982, the MAAC's first season. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The winner, declared conference champion, receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA men's basketball tournament. The MAAC did not receive its automatic bid from the NCAA until 1984.
The Loyola Greyhounds men's basketball team represents Loyola University Maryland in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I competition. They are currently led by third-year head coach Tavaras Hardy. It became a member of the Patriot League along with the university's other intercollegiate athletic programs on July 1, 2013. Home matches are played at Reitz Arena.
The Canisius College Golden Griffins are composed of 16 teams representing Canisius College in intercollegiate athletics. These teams include men's and women's basketball, cross country, track, lacrosse, soccer, and swimming and diving. Men's sports include baseball, ice hockey, and golf. Women's sports include volleyball, soccer, and softball. The Golden Griffins compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for most sports, excluding men's ice hockey which competes in Atlantic Hockey.
The Loyola Greyhounds men's soccer team represents Loyola University Maryland in NCAA Division I soccer. It became a member of the Patriot League on July 1, 2013. Previously it competed in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) from 1989 to 2013. To avoid ambiguity, the team is often referenced as Loyola Maryland or Loyola (MD), as there are two other institutions named Loyola that compete at the Division I level.
The Niagara Purple Eagles men's soccer team is the men's college soccer team that represent Niagara University and competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) of NCAA Division I. The Purple Eagles play their home games at Niagara Field on the campus of Niagara University. The team colors are purple PMS 268 and white.

The Greyhounds, led by eighth year head coach Jimmy Patsos, played their home games at Reitz Arena and are members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 24–9, 13–5 in MAAC play to finish in second place. They were champions of the MAAC Basketball tournament and earned the conference's automatic bid into the 2012 NCAA tournament where they lost in the second round to Ohio State.

The tournament began with first-round play on May 12, and concluded with the championship game played at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, on May 27, 2012. The Northwestern Wildcats were the 2012 NCAA Tournament champions.

The Greyhounds, led by ninth year head coach Jimmy Patsos, played their home games at Reitz Arena and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for second place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAAC tournament to Manhattan. They were invited to the 2013 CIT where they defeated Boston University and Kent State to advance to the quarterfinals where they lost ton East Carolina.

The Purple Eagles, led by 14th year head coach Joe Mihalich, played their home games at the Gallagher Center and were members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 19–14, 13–5 in MAAC play win the regular season conference championship. They advanced to the semifinals of the MAAC tournament where they lost to Iona. As a regular season conference champion who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the 2013 NIT where they lost in the first round to Maryland.
The 2015 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men's soccer tournament was the 23rd edition of the tournament. It determined the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's automatic berth into the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
The 2016 MAAC men's soccer tournament was the 24th edition of the MAAC Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament decided the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference champion and guaranteed representative into the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
The 2019 MAAC men's soccer tournament, was the 27th edition of the MAAC Men's Soccer Tournament, a post-season college soccer conference tournament to determine the MAAC champion, and the conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament. The 2019 edition of the tournament began on November 10 and concluded on November 17, 2019.
The 2021 MAAC women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference held from October 31 through November 7, 2021. The seven-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting matches. The host for the matches was determined by seeding from regular season play. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Siena Saints were the defending champions and were unable to defend their title, losing to the Quinnipiac Bobcats on pentalties in the semifinal. The Monmouth Hawks won the title by defeating Quinnipiac 4–0 in the final. This is Monmouth's sixth overall tournament win and fifth in the last six years. The title is also the sixth for head coach Krissy Turner. As tournament champions, Monmouth earned the MAAC's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.

The seven-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting matches. The host for the matches was determined by seeding from regular season play. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Monmouth were the defending champions and were unable to defend their title, losing to Marist in the semifinals. Marist went on to win the Championship, defeating Rider in a penalty shoot-out in the final. This is Marist's fourth overall tournament win and first since 2005. The title is also the first for head coach Matt Viggiano. As tournament champions, Marist earned the MAAC's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
The 2006–07 Niagara Purple Eagles men's basketball team represented Niagara University during the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Purple Eagles, led by ninth-year head coach Joe Mihalich, played their home games at the Gallagher Center in Lewiston, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 13–5 in MAAC play to finish in second place. They defeated Rider, Loyola, and Siena to win the MAAC tournament and secure the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as one of two 16 seeds in the West region. The Purple Eagles defeated Florida A&M, 77–69, in the Play-in Game to reach the field of 64 where No. 1 seed Kansas dominated Niagara by the score of 107–67.
The 2022 MAAC men's soccer tournament was the postseason men's soccer tournament for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference held from November 6 through November 13, 2022. The five-match tournament took place at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting matches. The host for the matches was determined by seeding from regular season play. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Marist Red Foxes were the defending champions and were unable to defend their title, after a seventh place regular season finish did not qualify them for the tournament. Regular season champion and top seed Quinnipiac would go on to win the tournament, defeating second seed Iona 3–2 in the final. This was Quinnipiac's second overall tournament win and first since 2013. Both of their titles have come under head coach Eric Da Costa. As tournament champions, Quinnipiac earned the MAAC's automatic berth into the 2022 NCAA Division I men's soccer tournament.
