The 2012 USL Pro season was the 26th season of third-division soccer in the United States, [1] and the second season of USL Pro. The season started with 11 teams. FC New York self-relegated to the National Premier Soccer League prior to the release of the schedule. The final weekend of the regular season was August 17–19.

Playoffs

The 2012 USL Pro Playoffs included the top six finishers in the table, with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds receiving a first-round bye on August 25. The semifinals featuring the four remaining teams was played the following weekend, with the 2012 USL PRO Championship set for the weekend of September 7–9. All playoff rounds featured a single-game knockout format.

Wilmington Hammerheads FC was a semi-professional American soccer team based in Wilmington, North Carolina. Founded in 1996, the team last competed in the Premier Development League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid in 2017.

The 2011 USL Pro season was the 25th season of third-division soccer in the United States, and was the inaugural season of the United Soccer Leagues' (USL) new professional competition. The league is effectively a combination of the USL's former First and Second Divisions.

The 2011 F.C. New York season will be the club's third year of existence, as well as their inaugural season of playing professional soccer. New York will be playing in the USL Professional Division, the third-tier of American soccer.

The 2011 Orlando City SC season, marked the club's first season in existence, and their first year in the third-tier USL Pro League. Previously, the club was known as the Austin Aztex FC before they were relocated to Orlando, Florida. They won a double, winning the Commissioner's Cup as the top team in the league's regular season, and winning the USL Pro Championship.

The 2011 Richmond Kickers season was the Kickers' nineteenth season in existence and their inaugural campaign in the third-tier USL Pro League. Beforehand, the Kickers played in the USL Second Division. Overall, it was the Kickers' sixth-consecutive season playing in the third division of American soccer.

The 2012 Charleston Battery season was the club's twentieth season of existence. It is the Battery's third consecutive year in the third tier of American soccer, playing in the USL Professional Division for their second season.

The 2012 Orlando City SC season was the club's second season of existence. It is City's second consecutive year in the third tier of American soccer, playing in the USL Professional Division for their second season. In the 2011 season, Orlando City won the regular season and the playoffs. As of the 1 March 2012, there are approximately 3,500 season ticket holders for the 2012 season. They ended the season with winning the league title for the second consecutive year, but they lost in the Playoffs to the Wilmington Hammerheads in the Semi-final 3–4.

The 2014 Richmond Kickers season was the club's twenty-second season of existence, seventh-consecutive year in the third-tier of American soccer, and their third-consecutive season playing in USL Pro. For the second season, the Kickers reached the semifinals of the USL Pro playoffs, before losing to the Harrisburg City Islanders. The Kickers finished shy of defending their regular season title, finishing in fourth place in the league table. In the Open Cup, the Kickers were eliminated in the fourth round proper by Major League Soccer outfit, New England Revolution.

The 2016 Richmond Kickers season was the club's twenty-fourth season of existence. It is also the Kickers' ninth-consecutive year in the third-tier of American soccer, playing in the United Soccer League for their fifth season.

The 2016 Charleston Battery season is the club's 24th year of existence, and their seventh season in the third tier of the United States Soccer Pyramid. It is their sixth season in the United Soccer League as part of the Eastern Conference.

The 2016 Rochester Rhinos season was the club's 21st year of existence, and their sixth season in the third tier of the United States Soccer Pyramid, playing in the United Soccer League Eastern Conference. They entered the season as defending USL champions and made it back to the playoffs, but were eliminated in the conference semi-finals by the New York Red Bulls II.
