The 2025 MLS Next Pro season is the fourth season of MLS Next Pro, the second-tier league of Major League Soccer. North Texas SC are the defending league and regular season champions.

Regular season

During the regular season, teams will play 28 matches each in a mostly regionalized schedule. Each conference was divided into divisions of seven or eight teams for scheduling. Top eight teams in each conference will qualify for the playoffs. [25]

It was the first year since 2017 the club has played, and their first season under the Rochester New York FC name, after spending the first 22 seasons branded as the Rochester Raging Rhinos and Rochester Rhinos. The club was the only independent team playing in MLS Next Pro, and was one of the two teams from the league to participate in the 2022 U.S. Open Cup, alongside St. Louis City SC 2.

The 2022 New York City FC II season was the inaugural season of New York City FC's development team. They will compete in MLS Next Pro, a new league sitting on the third tier of the United States soccer league system, and partly serving as a development league for Major League Soccer.

The 2024 season was the 112th season of competitive soccer in the United States. The season began with friendlies for the USMNT and USWNT in January and February. The USMNT competed in the 2023–24 CONCACAF Nations League, winning for the third straight time, and also competed as the host of the 2024 Copa América. The USWNT competed in the inaugural 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup, becoming the first champions of the cup.
