Glory Nzingo (born 4 November 2004) is an Irish professional footballer currently playing as a midfielder for EFL Championship club Swansea City.

Club career

Born in Dublin, Nzingo played for the youth sides of Mountview Boys, Castleknock Celtic, Home Farm and Cherry Orchard, before a move to St Patrick's Athletic in January 2019. [1] [2] He made his senior debut for St Pat's in a 4–0 pre-season friendly loss to English side Chelsea, at the age of fourteen. [3] [4] In 2020, he was named Football Association of Ireland under-15 player of the year. [1]

In June 2021, French side Stade Rennais launched a bid for Nzingo. [1] However, he went on to join fellow French side Stade de Reims in July of the same year. [5]

On 22 June 2023, it was announced that Nzingo had signed for the academy of Swansea City for an undisclosed fee. [6]

International career

Nzingo has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth international level. [7] In 2020 Nzingo was named U15 International Player of the Year at the annual FAI International Awards. In November 2024, he received his first call up to the Republic of Ireland U21 squad for their two friendlies against Sweden U21 in Marbella, Spain. [8]

The 2021 season was St Patrick's Athletic F.C.'s 92nd year in existence and is the Supersaint's 70th consecutive season in the top-flight of Irish football. It was the second full season with Stephen O'Donnell as manager, having taken over from Harry Kenny on 31 August 2019. Pre-season training for the squad began on 1 February 2021, the same day the league fixtures were announced, with the Saints revealed to be playing rivals Shamrock Rovers away in the opening game of the season on 19 March.
