The 2025 Major League Soccer season will be the 30th season of Major League Soccer (MLS), the top professional soccer league in the United States and Canada, and the 47th season overall of a national first-division league in the United States.
MLS expanded to 30 clubs this season with the addition of San Diego FC, an expansion team awarded in 2023. [1] The season will begin on the weekend of February 22, 2025. [2] The league's 30 teams will be divided into the Eastern and Western conferences, which each have 15 teams. The regular season from February 22 to October 18 will comprise 34 matches for each team with a schedule that is primarily intra-conference. There will be a break for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in late June and no break for the 2025 Leagues Cup in August. [3]
All MLS games will be broadcast on MLS Season Pass for the third year as part of a ten-year partnership between MLS and Apple Inc. for the broadcast and streaming rights to all MLS and Leagues Cup games, as well as select MLS Next and MLS Next Pro games. [4]
The 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, hosted by the United States, will take place during the middle of the season and include MLS participants Seattle Sounders FC and Inter Miami CF. [5] The 2025 edition of the Leagues Cup will take place between July 29 to August 31. [6]
The LA Galaxy are the reigning MLS Cup champions and Inter Miami CF are the Supporters' Shield holders, who set the all-time points record during the 2024 season.
Note: All teams use Adidas as universal kit manufacturer. As part of Apple's broadcast contract, all MLS kits will include Apple TV+ as a sleeve sponsor. [8]

Club Internacional de Fútbol Miami, better known as Inter Miami CF or simply Inter Miami, is an American professional soccer club based in the Miami metropolitan area. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. Inter Miami plays their home matches at Chase Stadium, with plans to move to Miami Freedom Park in 2026.
The 2020 Inter Miami CF season was the first season in the history of Inter Miami CF and the 17th season of first-division club soccer in South Florida. It was the first time since 2001 that a South Florida club competed in the first-division. In addition to playing in Major League Soccer, the club was scheduled to participate in the U.S. Open Cup but the competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2020 New York City FC season was the club's sixth season of competition and its sixth in the top tier of American soccer, Major League Soccer. New York City FC usually played its home games at Yankee Stadium in the New York City borough of The Bronx. However, the 2020 MLS season saw the club play several of their home games at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, New Jersey due to scheduling conflicts at both Yankee Stadium and Citi Field as well as winterization procedures during the 2020 CONCACAF Champions League which were unavoidable.

In addition to playing in Major League Soccer, the club was scheduled to participate in the U.S. Open Cup but the competition was cancelled for the second consecutive year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2021 Club de Foot Montréal season was the club's 28th season of existence, and their tenth in Major League Soccer, the top tier of the American soccer pyramid. This was the first season under the club's new name, being known as the Montreal Impact up until this point.
The 2021 Nashville SC season was the club's second season as a member of Major League Soccer. This was the club's last season in the Eastern Conference after being added to the Conference in 2020 after the MLS is Back Tournament as the club returns to the Western Conference the following season in 2022 due to the addition of Charlotte FC.

They made their MLS debut in the 2022 season. The 2025 season will be their second for Charlotte FC under English head coach Dean Smith, who was hired in December 2023 and was the team's third manager.
