The 2025 Houston Dynamo season is the 20th season of the team's existence since joining Major League Soccer (MLS) prior to the 2006 season. 2025 is the third season under head coach Ben Olsen and the fourth season under GM Pat Onstad and technical director Asher Mendelsohn. It is the fifth season (fourth full season) under majority owner Ted Segal.

The Western Conference is one of Major League Soccer's two conferences, along with the Eastern Conference. The division of the conferences broadly follows the path of the Mississippi River from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico, with clubs on, or west of the river in the Western Conference.
The 2021 FC Dallas season was the club's 26th season in Major League Soccer, the top tier of American soccer. On September 19, Luchi Gonzalez was relieved of duties as head coach. Marco Ferruzzi served as interim head coach for the remainder of the 2021 season.

The season covers the period from the end of the Timber's last match in MLS or MLS Playoffs in 2020 to their final match in MLS Cup Plays on December 11, 2021.
The 2021 Minnesota United FC season was the club's twelfth season of existence, and fifth in Major League Soccer. Their season began on April 16, 2021 where they lost to the Seattle Sounders FC 4-0 in Seattle. The club will play its home matches at Allianz Field in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The club reached the MLS Cup Playoffs for a third consecutive year, but lost in their first match to the Portland Timbers.
The 2022 North Texas SC season was the club's fourth season. The first three seasons North Texas SC competed in USL League One, including their championship year in the inaugural 2019 season. In December 2021, North Texas SC announced that they would compete in the inaugural MLS Next Pro season, a new division three league in American soccer.

The 2023 Vancouver Whitecaps FC season was the club's twelfth season in Major League Soccer, the top division of soccer in the United States and Canada. Including previous iterations of the franchise, this was the 46th season of professional soccer being played in Vancouver under a variation of the "Whitecaps" name.
The 2023 Real Salt Lake season was the team's 19th season in Major League Soccer, the top division of the American soccer pyramid. The team also competed in both the 2023 U.S. Open Cup and 2023 Leagues Cup. Real Salt Lake played their home games at America First Field in the Salt Lake City suburb of Sandy, and was managed by Pablo Mastroeni in his second full season with the club.

The 2024 Sporting Kansas City season was the 29th season of the team's existence in Major League Soccer and the 14th year played under the Sporting Kansas City moniker. Sporting Kansas City opened the season against the Houston Dynamo on February 24, 2024. In 2024, Sporting KC was one of the eight MLS teams that are participating in the 2024 U.S. Open Cup instead of sending an MLS Next Pro team.
The 2024 Portland Timbers season was the 38th season in their existence and the 14th season for the Portland Timbers in Major League Soccer (MLS), the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and Canada. The Timbers finished ninth in the Western Conference and won the Cascadia Cup. The team qualified for the wild card round of the 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, where they were eliminated by Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
The 2025 season will be the third season for St. Louis City SC. It will be also the club's third season in Major League Soccer (MLS).

LA Galaxy will play their home matches at Dignity Health Sports Park in the Los Angeles suburb of Carson, California. The Galaxy will open the season on February 23, 2025, hosting expansion side San Diego FC.
