This is a list of competitions played by Houston Dynamo involving international clubs, from 2006 (when the San Jose Earthquakes players and coaches were relocated to Houston) to the most recent completed season.

Contents

By virtue of their MLS Cup victories, the Dynamo have entered prestigious competitions like the CONCACAF Champions Cup and the North American SuperLiga. During the 2008 season, the Dynamo participated in the friendly Pan-Pacific Championship, held in Honolulu, Hawaii as well as in the inaugural CONCACAF Champions League competition.

Their best result in international competitions is being runner up of the 2008 SuperLiga. The Dynamo's best results in Concacaf were runs to the semifinals of the 2007 and 2008 Champions Cup. They also made the quarterfinals of the Champions League on 3 occasions.

He also won four caps for the United States between 2004 and 2007. Not a flashy player, Mullan was known for his work rate, hustle, and determination on the field.

Ashe was considered one of the fastest players in MLS during his time in the league. While in Houston, he was part of the MLS Cup 2007 winning squad and helped the Dynamo reach two more finals in 2011 and 2012. His 266 career appearances for the Dynamo is the 3rd most in franchise history.

The 2007 Houston Dynamo season was the second season of existence for the Houston franchise. The Dynamo were the defending MLS Cup champions from the previous season and prevailed to win back-to-back MLS Cups as they defeated the New England Revolution for the second year in a row in the MLS Cup final. The 2008 North American SuperLiga final was a soccer match played on August 6, 2008, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts in the United States. The match determined the winner of the 2008 North American SuperLiga, the second edition of the North American SuperLiga, which was a tournament contested by teams from Major League Soccer and Liga MX. In the 2008 edition, the top four teams from each league qualified based on their point totals at the end of the previous season. The New England Revolution and the Houston Dynamo played the match, and it was a rematch of the 2006 and 2007 MLS Cup finals, which were both won by the Dynamo. The final took place in front of 9,232 supporters and was refereed by Howard Webb from England.
