Nikolas Diego Tsakiris (born June 19, 2005) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes.
Tsakiris started playing academy soccer with De Anza Force. In 2015, at the age of 10, he moved to Florida to play with IMG Academy. A couple years later in 2017 he returned to the Bay Area and began play with the San Jose Earthquakes academy for four years, until receiving his first professional contract with San Jose at the beginning of 2022. On January 13, 2022, Tsakiris signed as a Homegrown Player for Major League Soccer side San Jose Earthquakes. He was the tenth homegrown signed by the Quakes in their history and the fifth youngest player they had ever signed. [2]
Tsakiris made his professional debut with San Jose on March 12, 2022, in an MLS match away to Philadelphia Union. Tsakiris became the third youngest player to appear in MLS for San Jose. [3] Tsakiris made his professional start in San Jose's matchup against Bay Cities FC in the third round of the 2022 U.S. Open Cup. Tsakiris also scored his first professional goal in the 83rd minute of the match. [4]
On March 3, 2020, Tsakiris was called up to a training camp for the United States national under-15 team. [5] On April 20, 2022, Tsakiris was called up to a training camp for the United States national under-20 team. He was the second youngest player called for the camp. [6]
Niko's father is Shaun Tsakiris, an American former soccer player who is currently an assistant coach of the U.S. under-20 men's soccer team and the director of Los Gatos United academy. [2] [7] He is of Greek and Portuguese descent. [8]

The San Jose Earthquakes are an American professional soccer club based in San Jose, California. The Earthquakes compete as a member club of the Western Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). Originally as the San Jose Clash, the franchise began play in 1996 as one of the charter members of the league. The Earthquakes took part in the first game in MLS history, defeating D.C. United 1–0. The Earthquakes have won two MLS Cup titles and two Supporters' Shields. In 2002, the team played in its first CONCACAF Champions Cup, making it to the quarterfinals. The team holds a fierce rivalry with the LA Galaxy known as the California Clásico.
Christopher Elliott Wondolowski is an American former professional soccer player who played as a forward. He was MLS's top scorer in the 2010 and 2012 seasons, also being named the 2012 Most Valuable Player, and was one of the top strikers during his time playing in Major League Soccer. With 171 goals in Major League Soccer, he is the highest scorer in the competition's history, as well as the only player in league history to score 150 or more regular-season goals.
Víctor Ulloa is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. Ulloa began his career in the FC Dallas academy, and was signed to the Major League Soccer pro team as a homegrown player in 2010. He made his debut for Dallas in 2011, and played there for eight years before being traded to FC Cincinnati. Beginning in 2020, he played for Inter Miami CF until the end of 2023.
