The 2012–2013 UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup events and season-long competition took place between 21 October 2012 and 20 January 2013, sponsored by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The events in Igorre and Liévin were dropped from the series, replaced by the return of Roubaix and the introduction of Rome.
The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup is a season-long competition in cyclo-cross, organised by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). First held in the 1993–1994 season, there are currently four awards, tailored to the different categories of riders: elite men, U23 men, junior men and elite women.
The Union Cycliste Internationale is the world governing body for sports cycling and oversees international competitive cycling events. The UCI is based in Aigle, Switzerland.
The Ziklokross Igorre is a cyclo-cross race held in Igorre, Spain, which is part of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup.

Sven Nys is a former professional cyclist competing in cyclo-cross and mountain bike. With two world championships, seven world cups, and over 140 competitive victories, he is considered one of the best cyclo-cross racers of his generation, and remains a prominent figure in cyclo-cross. Apart from cyclo-cross, Nys is also fivefold national mountainbike champion, and has competed in that discipline in two Olympic games.
Lars Anthonius Johannes Boom is a professional cyclo-cross and road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Professional Continental team Roompot–Charles.
Zdeněk Štybar is a Czech professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Deceuninck–Quick-Step. While best known as a cyclo-cross racer, in 2011 Štybar began his professional road career while continuing to race cyclo-cross.
Kevin Pauwels is a retired Belgian professional racing cyclist, for the Sunweb-Napoleon Games team. Pauwels retired on 24 February 2019 by winning the Sluitingsprijs Oostmalle.
Telenet–Fidea Lions is a UCI Continental cycling team based in Belgium which focuses predominantly on the cyclo-cross season. The team is named after its main sponsors Telenet and Fidea, an insurance company. The team was previously called Spaar-Select. Previous leaders of the team are the former Cyclo-Cross World Champions – Erwin Vervecken and Bart Wellens as well as the double Under 23 Cyclo-Cross World Champion, Zdeněk Štybar. Kevin Pauwels also rode for the team. The team manager is Sven Nys and the directeur sportifs include two former Cyclo-Cross World Champions – Danny De Bie and Roland Liboton.
Corendon–Circus is a UCI Professional Continental cycling team that is based in Belgium and races predominantly the cyclo-cross season. The leaders of the team have in the past been cyclo-cross world champion Niels Albert, Philipp Walsleben and Radomír Šimůnek.
Bart Aernouts is a professional cyclist who competes mainly in cyclo-cross races. Aernouts often finishes only a few places behind big names such as Sven Nys, Niels Albert and Zdeněk Štybar, but occasionally manages top results in high calibre races of the Gazet van Antwerpen Trophy or the Superprestige.

The Cyclo-cross Namur, also called the Citadelcross, is a cyclo-cross race in Namur, Belgium. The track is on the hills around the citadel there. First held in 2009, it was originally part of the Gazet van Antwerpen Trophy but became part of the UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup in the 2011–2012 season.
This event was held on February 2, 2013, as part of the 2013 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Louisville, Kentucky, United States. Belgian Sven Nys took home the gold for the second time in his career, a few seconds ahead of Klaas Vantornout, another Belgian. In the background, Lars van der Haar of the Netherlands managed to secure a third spot in his first year with the elite men.

The 2013–2014 Cyclo-cross Superprestige events and season-long competition took place between 27 October 2013 and 15 February 2014. Sven Nys won his 13th Superprestige, overtaking Niels Albert in the final race of the season.
Mathieu van der Poel is a Dutch cyclist, who currently competes in the cyclo-cross, mountain bike racing and road bicycle racing disciplines of the sport, for UCI Professional Continental team Corendon–Circus. He is best known for winning the Cyclo-cross World Championships in Tábor in 2015 and in Bogense in 2019, the Junior Road Race World Championships in Florence, Italy in 2013, and twice winning the Junior Cyclo-cross World Championships, in Koksijde, Belgium in 2012, and Louisville, USA in 2013; the first rider to win multiple titles at that level. As well as this, Van der Poel was the winner of the 2018 Dutch National Road Race Championships in Hoogerheide.
The BPost Bank Trophy 2013–2014 is a season long cyclo-cross competition which began on 13 October with the GP Mario De Clercq and will end on 23 February in Oostmalle.
This event was held on 2 February 2014 as part of the 2014 UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in Hoogerheide, Netherlands. Participants must be men born in 1991 or before. It was won by Zdeněk Štybar of Czech Republic.
The 2014–2015 Cyclo-cross Superprestige events and season-long competition took place between 5 October 2014 and 14 February 2015. This was the first season after Niels Albert gave a press-conference that he had to stop competitive cycling because of a heart condition. Meanwhile, Sven Nys was going this season for his 14th title in the Cyclo-cross Superprestige.
The BPost Bank Trophy 2014–2015 is a season long cyclo-cross competition which began on 12 October with the GP Mario De Clercq and will end on 7 February in Lille. In this season Oostmalle, that became an independent race this season, is replaced by Hamme, a former race in the Superprestige.
Wout van Aert is a Belgian professional road and cyclo-cross racer, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Team Jumbo–Visma. He won the men's elite race at the UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships in 2016, 2017 and 2018. He joined Team Jumbo–Visma, in March 2019, on a three-year deal, after terminating his contract with Vérandas Willems–Crelan in 2018.
