The 2013 Boys' Youth European Volleyball Championship. Qualification was played in the Czech Republic, Latvia, Slovakia, Turkey and Hungary from January 3 to 7, 2013. The final round (group round and play-off) was contested between April 12 and 21, 2013. The top six teams qualified for the 2013 Youth World Championship.

The 2011 Men's European Volleyball Championship was the 27th edition of the European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. It was held in Austria and Czech Republic from 10 to 18 September 2011.
The 2012 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 23rd edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament, played by 16 countries from 18 May to 8 July 2012. The Final Round was held in Sofia, Bulgaria.
The CEV qualification for the 2006 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship saw member nations compete for seven places at the finals in Japan.
The CEV qualification for the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship saw member nations compete for nine places at the finals in Italy. The two best-ranked teams from the 2013 Women's European Volleyball Championship, plus seven teams from the qualification tournaments qualify for the World Championship.

The 2015 Girls' Youth European Volleyball Championship was played in Samokov and Plovdiv, Bulgaria from March 28 to April 5, 2015. The top six teams qualified for the 2015 Youth World Championship.

The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship was the 19th staging of the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship, contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB), the sport's global governing body. The final tournament was held in Italy and Bulgaria from 9 to 30 September 2018. For the first time, the tournament was jointly-hosted by more than one country. The final six was hosted by Italy at the Pala Alpitour in Turin.
The qualification for the 2016 Women's Olympic volleyball tournament was held from 22 August 2015 to 22 May 2016. Twelve teams qualified, the hosts, the FIVB World Cup champion and runner-up, five continental Olympic qualification tournament champions, and four teams from the World Olympic qualification tournament respectively. Teams already qualified for the event were not eligible to play in the following qualification tournaments.
The 2005 Boys' Youth European Volleyball Championship was the 6th edition of the Boys' Youth European Volleyball Championship, organised by Europe's governing volleyball body, the CEV. It was held in Riga, Latvia from March 29 to April 3, 2005.
The 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League was the 27th edition of the annual men's international volleyball tournament which was played by a record of 36 teams from 16 June to 17 July 2016. The Group 1 final round was held in Kraków, Poland. After being runners-up on five occasions, Serbia finally claimed their first World League after prevailing over Brazil in straight sets. The defending champions France claimed their first ever bronze medal at the World League after a fast victory in straight sets against Italy. Marko Ivović was elected the most valuable player.
