The 2013 Energiewacht Tour is the third edition of the Energiewacht Tour women's cycling stage race. It is rated by the UCI as category 2.2, and is held between 3 and 7 April 2013 in the Netherlands.^[1] Twenty-four teams of 6 riders take part.^[2] There is also an Energiewacht Tour for junior riders from 5 to 7 April 2013.^[3]

Stage 1

3 April 2013 – Winschoten (Oldambt) to Winschoten, 104.3 km (64.8 mi)^[1]

The race consisted of three laps around Bad Nieuweschans and 3 laps around Winschoten. The mayor of Oldambt, Pieter Smit, started the race. The race included two bonification sprints. Lisa Brennauer won the first one, ahead of Ellen van Dijk and Adrie Visser. Visser won the second one ahead of Trixi Worrack and Annemiek van Vleuten. In Bad Nieuweschans the bunch split into three groups. The first group had a 1' 25" seconds gap on the second group before they were sent into the wrong direction. The race was neutralized and the first group got the 1' 25" seconds lead. After that some roads were not properly closed anymore and cars rode over the course. Due to the dangerous situation the women's stopped riding. After a while they continuead riding but later on they had to wait for an open bridge. A protest of the women's followed and with one lap to go the ladies stopped at the start/finish in Winschoten. Some of them wanted to abandon the race but after intense discussions with the organisation the ladies started again with the original time differences between the groups. In the final lap the front group split with a small group of 4 leaders in the front. Kirsten Wild won the side by side sprint of Ellen van Dijk. Iris Slappendel finished in third place.^[4]^[5]^[6]

Stage 2

4 April 2013 – Pekela to Veendam, 105.5 km (65.6 mi)^[1]

Pekela was the start and Veendam the finish place of the team time trial in the 2012 Energiewacht Tour. Now the riders rode the same course in a regular race. After three laps in Pekela the riders rode to Veendam for four local laps there. During the local laps in Pekela the peloton split in different groups, with a front group of 13 riders. Annemiek van Vleuten got punctured and could not reach the front group during the race. From the stage 1 top-10 of also Christine Majerus was not in the first group. In the final kilometers there were a lot of attacks, but were pulled back. Kirsten Wild pulled back the last one of Lisa Brennauer and won the sprint ahead of Chloe Hosking and Adrie Visser.^[7]

Stage 3a

5 April 2013 – Winsum to Winsum (individual time trial), 21.1 km (13.1 mi)^[1]

Winsum will be also the host city for 2013 Dutch National Time Trial Championships and the course of both time trials is probably the same.^[8] Ellen van Dijk won the time trial with nearly a minute ahead of Lisa Brennauer and Shara Gillow who finished second and third. Van Dijk took over the lead in the general classification from Kirsten Wild who finished 9th at 1' 54".^[9]

Winschoten is a city with a population of 18,518 in the municipality of Oldambt in the northeast of the Netherlands. It is the largest city in the region of Oldambt in the province of Groningen which has 38,213 inhabitants.

Eleonora Maria "Ellen" van Dijk is a Dutch professional road racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam Lidl–Trek. Besides road cycling she was also a track cyclist until 2012. Van Dijk is known as a time trial specialist and is five times world champion. She won her first world title on the track in the scratch race in 2008. She became Road World Champion in 2012, 2013 and 2016 with her respective trade teams in the team time trial and in 2013 also in the individual time trial. In 2015, she won the time trial at the first European Games and the silver medal in the team time trial at the world championships.

Oude Pekela is a town in the Dutch province of Groningen. It is located in the municipality of Pekela, about 5 km southwest of Winschoten. It was established to exploit the peat in the area. During the 19th century, it was known for its maritime transport. During the 20th century, Oude Pekela became the centre of the cardboard and potato starch industry.

Kirsten Carlijn Wild is a Dutch former professional racing cyclist, who rode professionally between 2004 and 2021, for eight professional teams. During her track cycling career, Wild rode at the Summer Olympic Games in 2012, 2016 and 2020, winning a bronze medal at the latter Games, in the omnium. She won eighteen medals including nine golds at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, and eighteen medals including eight golds at the UEC European Track Championships. Wild also took over 100 victories in road racing, and won two medals at the UCI Road World Championships.

Amy Pieters is a Dutch professional road and track cyclist, who is contracted to ride for UCI Women's WorldTeam SD Worx. She was a member of the Dutch team that finished sixth at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the team pursuit.

AA Drink–leontien.nl was a cycling team based in the Netherlands. The title sponsors were AA Drink, a Dutch sports drinks brand owned by United Soft Drinks, and leontien.nl, a women's health and fitness website associated with former champion cyclist Leontien van Moorsel, whose husband Michael Zijlaard was the team manager.

The 2013 Ladies Tour of Qatar is the 5th edition of the Ladies Tour of Qatar. It is organised by the Qatar Cycling Federation with technical and sports-related assistance from Amaury Sport Organisation (A.S.O.) under the regulations of the Union Cycliste Internationale. It took place from Tuesday 29 January until Friday 1 February 2013 and consisted of 4 stages, one more stage than the former editions. 15 teams of 6 riders took part.

The 2013 season was the eleventh for the Specialized–lululemon cycling team, which began as the T-Mobile team in 2003. Three riders joined the team in 2013, American cyclists Carmen Small and Tayler Wiles, and the Canadian Gillian Carleton. Charlotte Becker, Emilia Fahlin, Chloe Hosking, Clara Hughes and Amber Neben left the team in the post-Olympic year.

The 2014 women's road cycling season was the fifth for the Boels–Dolmans Cycling Team, which began as the Dolmans Landscaping Team in 2010. The main new rider for the team was the Time Trial World Champion Ellen van Dijk, after have ridden 5 years for Specialized–lululemon. After winning the Omloop van het Hageland in early March, Lizzie Armitstead won also the first World Cup race, the Ronde van Drenthe. She would finish later three times in second place in the later World Cup races and keeping the lead in the overall World Cup classification. In begin April, after a solo of 30 km Ellen van Dijk won the Tour of Flanders World Cup race.

The 2012 women's road cycling season was the eighth year for AA Drink–leontien.nl, which began as Van Bemmelen–AA Drink in 2005.

The 2014 Boels Ladies Tour also known as the 2014 Holland Ladies Tour is the 17th edition of the Holland Ladies Tour, a women's cycle stage race in the Netherlands. The tour is part of the 2014 women's road cycling calendar and will be held from 2 September to 7 September. The tour has six stages, it starts with an individual trial over 10.1 km (6.3 mi) in Tiel and concludes with a hilly stage in Limburg. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.1.

The 2015 Energiewacht Tour was the 5th edition of the Energiewacht Tour, a stage race primarily held in the Netherlands, with a UCI rating of 2.2, from 8 to 12 April. The last stage took place on the island of Borkum in Germany.

The 2015 Boels Rental Ladies Tour also known as the 2015 Holland Ladies Tour is the 18th edition of the Holland Ladies Tour, a women's cycle stage race in the Netherlands. The tour is part of the 2014 women's road cycling calendar and was held 1 September to 6 September. The tour has six stages, including an individual time trial. The tour starts with the first stages in and around Tiel and concludes with a hilly stage in Limburg. The tour has an UCI rating of 2.1.

The 2018 Healthy Ageing Tour was a women's cycle stage race that was held in the Netherlands from 4 to 8 April 2018. The 2018 edition of the race was the eighth running of the Healthy Ageing Tour, being held with a UCI rating of 2.1.
