The Huntington Hammer were a professional indoor football team that began play as a charter member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) for its inaugural 2011 season. The Hammer is based in Huntington, West Virginia, with home games played at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena.
The Marion Blue Racers were a professional indoor football team based in Marion, Ohio. The Blue Racers began play as an expansion team in the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL) in 2011, before moving to the United Indoor Football League (UIFL) for the 2012 season. The Blue Racers returned to the CIFL in 2013. The team had announced that it would be joining the Xtreme Indoor Football League (XIFL) for the 2014, but later re-signed with the CIFL. During the 2015 season, the Blue Racers played as members of X-League Indoor Football.
The Lakeland Tarpons are a professional indoor football team based in Lakeland, Florida, out of the RP Funding Center. Originally established in Estero, Florida, and playing out of Germain Arena, they began play in 2012 as the Florida Tarpons, an expansion team of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The Tarpons joined the X-League Indoor Football (X-League) during the 2015 season when the UIFL merged with the X-League. They played in the Arena Pro Football (APF) league in 2017 before the league became the American Arena League (AAL) for 2018. For 2019, they formed their own Florida-based league, called the A-League.
The Mississippi Hound Dogs were a professional indoor football team based in Tupelo, Mississippi. The Hound Dogs played their home games at the BancorpSouth Arena as a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League's Southern Conference.
The Ultimate Bowl was the annual championship game of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). In 2011, it was the meeting of the two semifinal game winners. In 2012, it was the meeting of the winners of the North and South Divisions.
The 2011 Eastern Kentucky Drillers season was the 1st season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) franchise. On November 26, 2010, the UIFL announced that the team in Pikeville, Kentucky would be named the Eastern Kentucky Drillers. The Drillers lost their first game in franchise history, a 44-49 defeat to the hands of the Saginaw Sting. Even in the defeat, two Drillers, won the first ever Offensive Player of the Week and Special Teams Player of the Week Awards in the history of the Ultimate Indoor Football League. The following week, the Drillers played their first ever home game at Eastern Kentucky Expo Center, and in front of 3,500 fans, the Drillers won 37-26 over the Huntington Hammer. The Drillers were able to finish the season with an 8-6 record. In the playoffs, they defeated the Huntington Hammer, and advanced to Ultimate Bowl I, where they lost to the Saginaw Sting.
The 2011 Northern Kentucky River Monsters season was the first season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL) franchise. Announced as startup team for the newly formed Ultimate Indoor Football League in 2010, the team was purchased by Jill Chitwood from the UIFL in February 2011. Just a week before the season began, team General Manager, Jared Lorenzen, relieved himself of his duties as general manager, and became the quarterback for the franchise. In the River Monsters first ever game they defeated the Canton Cougars by a score of 63–41. With a Week 9 win over the Saginaw Sting, the River Monsters had clinched a postseason berth in their first season, clinching home field advantage throughout the playoffs. After wrapping up the season, the UIFL had discovered that the River Monsters had been paying their players over the league's salary cap. The UIFL stripped the River Monsters of the #1 seed and made them the #4 seed, taking away the River Monster's chance to earn playoff money. The River Monster now traveled to Saginaw, Michigan to play the Sting, where the Sting upset the River Monsters 48–47. On June 6, 2011, it was announced that the UIFL and the River Monsters mutually agreed to part ways, leaving the team free to join another league. However, the UIFL had a lease agreement with the arena, which hampered the likelihood the River Monsters would play in Highland Heights in 2012. The team had been mentioned as a charter member Stadius Football Association, but that league never got off the ground.

After a two-year hiatus, the River Monsters returned in 2014 as a member of the South Division of the Continental Indoor Football League (CIFL). The River Monsters played their home games at The Bank of Kentucky Center. On June 6, 2011, it was announced that the UIFL and the River Monsters mutually agreed to part ways, leaving the team free to join another league. However, the UIFL had a lease agreement with the arena, which hampered the likelihood the River Monsters would play in Highland Heights in 2012. The team had been mentioned as a charter member Stadius Football Association in 2012, but that league never got off the ground. The team suspended operations on October 1, 2014.
The Miami Sting were a professional indoor football team based in Coral Gables, Florida. The Sting was to play its home games at the BankUnited Center on the campus of the University of Miami in Coral Gables. The Sting folded just before the 2013 season began.

The regular season will start on Friday February 8, with the Marion Blue Racers visiting the Saginaw Sting at the Dow Event Center, and will end with the 2013 CIFL Championship Game, the league's championship game being held on, or around, May 18. The league approved the expansion of the playoff format from four teams to six teams.
The Miami Inferno was a professional indoor football team which was a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). Based in Coral Gables, Florida, the Inferno played some of their home games at the BankUnited Center on the campus of the University of Miami. They were the latest indoor/arena football team to play in the Miami area after the Miami Hooters Florida Bobcats of the Arena Football League, who played from 1993 to 2001. Cade Kretuer, son of Chad Kreuter was made back up QB prior to the start of the 2014 season. The Inferno were owned by Chad and Amber Dittman. The UIFL suspended the Miami Inferno on July 12, 2014. All remaining games of the 2014 season were forfeited.
The 2014 UIFL season was the fourth and what would be the final season for the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The league went to 4 teams to start the season Corpus Christi Fury, Florida Tarpons, Missouri Voodoo and Miami Inferno. On July 12, 2014, it was announced that the Miami Inferno were suspended for the remainder of the 2014 season and all games would be forfeited. It was also announced that Ultimate Bowl IV would be played on August 2, 2014. The game featured Corpus Christi Fury vs. Florida Tarpons, with the Fury winning 60-23.
The 2015 American Indoor Football season was the tenth season of American Indoor Football (AIF). The regular season began March 20, 2015, and ended on May 23, 2015. Each team will played an 8-game schedule, with the exception of the Maryland Eagles, who were scheduled to play a 4-game schedule, all on the road. The top 4 teams in the league advanced to the playoffs that began on May 30, 2015.

The 2013 Corpus Christi Fury season was the 11th season for the franchise, and their first as a member of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The team moving to the UIFL also changed their names from the Hammerhead to the Fury, and named LaDaniel Marshall the team's head coach.
