FC Barcelona won the title for the second consecutive time by defeating Al Sadd 34–26 in the final. [1]

The 2011 World Women's Handball Championship was the 20th edition of the international championship tournament in women's Team sport handball that is governed by the International Handball Federation (IHF). Brazil hosted the event from 2–18 December 2011.
The 2013 World Men's Handball Championship was the 23rd World Men's Handball Championship, an international handball tournament that took place in Spain from 11 to 27 January 2013. This was the first time Spain hosted the World Men's Handball Championship, becoming the twelfth country to host the competition.
The 2015 IHF World Women's Handball Championship, the 22nd event hosted by the International Handball Federation, was held in Denmark. The decision to select Denmark as the host was announced on 27 January 2011.
The 2015 World Men's Handball Championship was the 24th staging of the World Men's Handball Championship, organised by the International Handball Federation (IHF). The final tournament was held for the first time in Qatar, from 15 January to 1 February 2015. The Qatari bid was selected over those of Norway, Poland and France after a vote by the IHF Council on 27 January 2011, in Malmö, Sweden. Al Sadd Handball Team is the handball team of Al Sadd SC, based in the capital city of Doha, Qatar. It currently competes in the Qatar Handball League (QHL). The team is one of the most successful in all of Asia, winning the Asian Club League Handball Championship a record 5 times.

The 2022 IHF Men's Super Globe will be 16th edition of the yearly club world championship in handball scheduled to be held from 18 to 23 October 2022 in Dammam, Saudi Arabia under the aegis of the International Handball Federation (IHF). It will be the third time in history that the event will be organised by the Saudi Arabian Handball Federation.
