The 2014 Letran Knights men's basketball team represented Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the 90th season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2014-15 began on June 28, 2014, and the host school for the season was Jose Rizal University. [1] [2]

Contents

The Knights finished the double round-robin eliminations at sixth place with 9 wins against 9 losses. This is the first time the Knights missed the Final Four playoffs since 2010. [3]

Roster changes

The Knights have lost key players in Season 89 MVP Raymond Almazan, who was the third pick in the 2013 PBA Draft, and Jonathan Belorio, who had used up his eligibility. [4] Holdovers were Mark Cruz, Kevin Racal, Rey Nambatac, and McJour Luib. [4] Added to the roster was NCAA Season 88 juniors MVP Bong Quinto, Filipino-American Daryl Singontiko, and spitfire JP Calvo. [4]

Injuries

Kevin Racal suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) on his left knee during the team's practice a day before the game against the Arellano Chiefs. [6]

The LPU Pirates are the athletic teams that represent the Lyceum of the Philippines University and plays in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines), the oldest athletic association in the Philippines. Colegio de San Juan de Letran hosted the season, starting with an opening ceremony held on June 23, 2012 followed by a double-header. Games then are subsequently being held at Filoil Flying V Arena, with seniors' games on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays aired by AKTV.

The Letran Knights basketball is the collegiate men’s basketball program of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran. The Knights have won 19 championships since joining the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It is the second winningest team in the NCAA, just behind the San Beda Red Lions. The current head coach of the Knights is Bonnie Tan.

Calvin John Oftana is a Filipino professional basketball player for the TNT Tropang Giga of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He played college basketball for the San Beda Red Lions in the NCAA. He plays both the small forward and the power forward positions. He has also played as a shooting guard during college.

The NCAA Season 97 seniors' basketball tournament was the basketball tournaments of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (Philippines) for its 2021–22 season. This was the first tournament since the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, and since 2019 after the planned 96th season was cancelled because of the pandemic. Only the seniors' tournament for college students shall be held; the juniors' tournament for senior high school students last held in 2019 was still not held.

The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2015-16 began on June 27, 2015, and the host school for the season was Mapúa Institute of Technology.

The 2016 Letran Knights men's basketball team represented Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the 92nd season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2016-17 began on June 25, 2016, and the host school for the season was San Beda College.

The 2017 Letran Knights men's basketball team represented Colegio de San Juan de Letran in the 93rd season of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in the Philippines. The men's basketball tournament for the school year 2017-18 began on July 8, 2017, and the host school for the season was San Sebastian College–Recoletos.
