The 2014 Melanesian Super Cup was the inaugural edition of the Melanesian Super Cup. [1] The matches were played at the Port Vila Municipal Stadium in Port Vila, with tournament was played in round-robin format.

The Four Nations Friendship Cup was a competition played in June 2015. The competition was used to help teams to prepare for the 2015 Pacific Games.

The 2016 OFC U-20 Championship was the 21st edition of the OFC U-20 Championship, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for players aged 19 and below. This year, the tournament was held in Vanuatu for the first time by itself.

Moses Hedley Toata is Solomon Islander football manager and former player. He manages the Solomon Warriors, a team in the Solomon Islands S-League. For nearly a year Toata managed the Solomon Islands national team before stepping down in July 2016. As a player, Toata made 10 appearances for the national team and scored one goal as a midfielder.
