The 2015 Melanesian Super Cup was the 2nd edition of the Melanesian Super Cup. [1] The tournament is held since 2014 and is a sign of the longtime friendship between Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands. The matches were played at the Port Vila Municipal Stadium in Port Vila, with tournament was played in round-robin format. The draw for the fixtures was held on 1 October 2015 at Port Vila, Vanuatu.

The 2016 OFC U-20 Championship was the 21st edition of the OFC U-20 Championship, the biennial international youth football tournament organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) for players aged 19 and below. This year, the tournament was held in Vanuatu for the first time by itself.

Moses Hedley Toata is Solomon Islander football manager and former player. He is currently the technical director of the Solomon Islands Football Federation. For nearly a year Toata managed the Solomon Islands national team before stepping down in July 2016. As a player, Toata made 10 appearances for the national team and scored one goal as a midfielder. At club level, he played for Kossa for his entire career. He has won the Solomon Islands S-League as both a player and a manager.

The 2022 MSG Prime Minister's Cup was held from 17–30 September 2022. Vanuatu hosted the competition with all matches being played at the Korman Stadium in Port Vila. The tournament was a resurrection of the Melanesia Cup which has not been held since the year 2000. It was a FIFA Tier-1 tournament.
