The 2014 Skyrunning World Championships was the 2nd edition of the global skyrunning competition, Skyrunning World Championships, organised by the International Skyrunning Federation and was held in French side of Mont Blanc from 27 to 29 July 2014. [1]

The Skyrunner World Series is an annual international championship of skyrunning and the official International Skyrunning Federation (ISF) race circuit for mountain running. Each year the Skyrunner World Series presents a global Sky Racing calendar, attracting mountain running athletes from almost every country.

Laura Orgué Vila is a Spanish cross country skier and sky runner who has competed since 2004. Competing in three Winter Olympics, she earned her best finish of 10th in the 30 km skating at Sochi in 2014. In 2014, she switched her focus from skiing to trail running.

Tove Alexandersson is a Swedish orienteer, ski orienteer, skyrunner and ski mountaineer. She has won a total of 17 gold medals at the World Orienteering Championships and 10 gold medals at the World Ski Orienteering Championships. In 2018, she won the Sky Marathon event at the Skyrunning World Championships, in her second skyrunning race ever. In 2021, she won the combined discipline at the World Championships of Ski Mountaineering. She competes for Stora Tuna OK in orienteering and Alfta-Ösa OK in ski orienteering. Alexandersson holds the record for the number of gold medals in a row at the World Orienteering Championships, winning 11 in a row between 2018 and 2022.

The Skyrunning World Championships are skyrunning competitions held for the first time in 2010 and organised by the International Skyrunning Federation. The second edition was held in 2014 and thereafter the championships have taken place on a biennial basis.
