The 2014 Sunshine Ladies Tour was the inaugural season of the Sunshine Ladies Tour, a series of professional golf tournaments for women based in South Africa. [1]
The season featured six 36-holes stroke play tournaments with no cut, each with a purse of R100,000. The leading players on the Order of Merit competed for Investec Cup for Ladies in March, with a purse of R300,000. [2]

The PGA European Tour is an organisation which operates the three leading men's professional golf tours in Europe: the elite European Tour, which is the principal golf tour in Europe; the European Senior Tour, for players aged fifty or older; and the developmental Challenge Tour. Its headquarters are at Wentworth Club in Virginia Water, Surrey, England. The European Tour was established by the British-based Professional Golfers' Association through the 1970s, and responsibility was transferred to an independent PGA European Tour organisation in 1984.
The Sunshine Tour is a men's professional golf tour based in Southern Africa. For much of its early history it was known either as the South African Tour or Sunshine Circuit; through sponsorship deals, it has also been known as the Vodacom Tour and the FNB Tour. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the Sunshine Tour in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa.

The 2000–01 Sunshine Tour was the first season of professional golf tournaments since the southern Africa based Sunshine Tour was rebranded. Previously it had been known as the Southern Africa Tour. The Sunshine Tour represents the highest level of competition for male professional golfers in the region. In its first year, the prize money was over 20% lower than the amount awarded the last year of the Africa Tour.
The Investec Cup is a golf tournament on the Sunshine Tour. It is played annually in March at Millvale Private Retreat in Koster, South Africa. Similar to the PGA Tour's Tour Championship, the Investec Cup has a 16-man field determined by the Chase to the Investec Cup standings. Points are earned in all Sunshine Tour events, beginning immediately after the previous Investec Cup. While the tournament's prize fund is a winner-take-all, R 250,000, a bonus pool of R 10,000,000 is distributed to the top finishers in the Chase, with the winner of the Chase taking R 4,000,000.
