The 2014 Texas Southern Lady Tigers softball team represented Texas Southern University in the 2014 NCAA Division I softball season. Worley Barker entered the year as head coach of the Lady Tigers for a 9th consecutive season. The Lady Tigers were picked to first in the West Division of the pre-season conference polls. The Lady Tigers would do so and go on to win the SWAC's automatic berth in the 2014 NCAA Softball Championships. [1] After going 0–2 in the Lafayette Regional, the Lady Tigers finished the season 31–20.

The Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) is a collegiate athletic conference headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, which is made up of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I for most sports; in football, it participates in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), formerly referred to as Division I-AA.
The Texas Southern Tigers represent Texas Southern University in Houston, Texas, in intercollegiate athletics. They field sixteen teams including men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, and track and field; women's-only bowling, soccer, softball, tennis, and volleyball; and men's-only baseball and football. The Tigers compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Amanda Marie Scarborough is an American sports broadcaster for ESPN and former softball player. Playing college softball at Texas A&M, Scarborough was a two-time NFCA All-American, the 2005 Big 12 Conference Player of the Year, and 2007 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.
The Texas A&M Aggies softball team represents Texas A&M University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team belongs to the SEC Conference and plays home games at the Davis Diamond.The Aggies have won two NCAA championships in 1983 and 1987 along with an AIAW national championship in 1982. The Aggies have been NCAA runners-up three times in 1984, 1986, and 2008. Reaching the Women's College World Series eleven times, the Aggies have reached the finals six times in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987, and 2008.
The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Western Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). It is currently led by head coach Patrick Murphy and assistant coaches Lance McMahon and Kayla Braud. The team plays its home games at the Rhoads Stadium located on the university's campus. The Alabama Crimson Tide softball team won its first national championship in 2012, after they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the championship series of the Women's College World Series.
The Grambling State Tigers men's basketball team represents Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. The school's team currently competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. They currently play their home games at the Fredrick C. Hobdy Assembly Center. They made their first ever appearance to the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 2024.
The 2011 Alabama Crimson Tide softball team is an American softball team, representing the University of Alabama for the 2011 NCAA softball season. The Crimson Tide plays its home games at Rhoads Stadium. The 2011 made the postseason for the 13th straight year, and the Women's College World Series for seventh time after failing to make it in 2010. This season represents the 15th season of softball in the school's history. The Crimson Tide won the SEC Regular Season by defeating the Ole Miss Rebels 10-1.
The 2012 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 18 through June 6, 2012 as the final part of the 2012 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 284 teams on May 13, 2012. 30 teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and 34 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2012 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
The Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball tournament decides the conference baseball championship of the NCAA Division I Southwestern Athletic Conference. The top four finishers in each conference division participate in a two-bracket, double-elimination tournament, most recently played in Birmingham, Alabama, between May 25 and May 29, 2022. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the NCAA tournament and, since 2019, to the HBCU World Series.
The 2014 Texas Longhorns softball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2014 NCAA Division I softball season. Connie Clark entered the year as head coach of the Longhorns for an 18th consecutive season. The Longhorns were picked to finish third in the pre-season conference polls. After posting a 12–6 record in conference play, the Longhorns finished exactly where they were picked to finish and qualified for the NCAA softball tournament as an at large bid. The Longhorns would go 2–2 in the Lafayette Region and bow out with a final record of 35–23.
The 2015 NCAA Division I softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began in February 2015. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2015 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament and held annually in Oklahoma City at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, ended in June 2015.
The 2016 BYU Cougars softball team represents Brigham Young University in the 2016 NCAA Division I softball season. Gordon Eakin entered the year as head coach of the Cougars for a 14th consecutive season. 2016 is the third season for the Cougars as members of the WCC in softball. The Cougars enter 2016 having won their last 7 conference championships and as the favorites in the WCC.
The 2017 NCAA Division I softball tournament was held from May 18 through June 7, 2017, as the final part of the 2017 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 participating NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 14, 2017. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2017 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma would repeat as National Champions, defeating Florida in 2 games and 17 innings in the first game. Oklahoma became the lowest seeded team to ever win the National Championship, winning as the 10 seed.
The 2019 Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns football team represented the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in the 2019 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The Ragin' Cajuns played their home games at Cajun Field in Lafayette, Louisiana, and competed in the West Division of the Sun Belt Conference. They were led by second-year head coach Billy Napier. The Cajuns made it to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Game for the second consecutive year by winning the West Division, ultimately losing to Appalachian State by the score of 45–38. The Cajuns then defeated Miami (OH) in the LendingTree Bowl, to end the season with an overall record of 11–3. Following the season, head coach Billy Napier's contract was extended by two years, going into the 2025 season.

Led first-year head coach Clarence McKinney, the Tigers compiled an overall record of 0–11 with a mark of 0–7 in conference play, placing last out of five teams in the SWAC's West Division. Texas Southern played home games at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston.
The 2020 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began February 6, 2020. The season ended on March 12, 2020, when the NCAA cancelled all winter championships and spring sports seasons due to the coronavirus pandemic. The 2020 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2020 Women's College World Series, which were to be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, did not occur.
