This is the 66th edition of Torneo di Viareggio. The 2014 winners of the Torneo di Viareggio (in English, the Viareggio Tournament, officially the Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament Coppa Carnevale), the annual youth football tournament held in Viareggio, Tuscany, are listed below.

Torneo di Viareggio football tournament

The Torneo di Viareggio, officially named the Viareggio Cup World Football Tournament Coppa Carnevale, is a youth association football tournament held annually in the commune of Viareggio, Italy and its surrounding areas. Established in 1949, the Torneo di Viareggio is considered one of the most important youth football tournaments in the world.

Viareggio Comune in Tuscany, Italy

Viareggio is a city and comune in northern Tuscany, Italy, on the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea. With a population of over 62,000, it is the second largest city within the province of Lucca, after Lucca.

Tuscany Region of Italy

Tuscany is a region in central Italy with an area of about 23,000 square kilometres and a population of about 3.8 million inhabitants (2013). The regional capital is Florence (Firenze).

Format

The 32 teams are seeded in 8 pools, split up into 6-pool groups. Each team from a pool meets the others in a single tie. The winning club from each pool and two best runners-up from both group A and group B progress to the final knockout stage. All matches in the final rounds are single tie. The Round of 16 after envisions penalties and no extra time, while the rest of the final round matches include 30 minutes extra time and penalties to be played if the draw between teams still holds.

Four additional clubs are allowed to enter the competition from the Round of 16 onward through a wild card, according to their record of achievements. The wild card will be given at the incontestable discretion of the organising committee. [1] 2014 wild card: Juventus F.C., A.C. Milan, [2] AACF Fiorentina, F.C. Internazionale Milano.

Juventus F.C. Youth Sector

Juventus F.C. Youth Sector is youth set-up of Juventus Football Club. The Youth Sector is made up of various squads divided by age groups. All the Youth Sector squads currently train at the club's main training ground, Juventus Center, located at the piedmontese village of Vinovo.

S.S.C. Napoli Youth Sector

The youth sector is responsible for managing all the teams registered by SSC Napoli into their youth leagues that is governed by the Italian FIGC for various National and International tournaments. The objective of this policy is to train and enhance young members of SSC Napoli so that they can be launched in the world of professional football, creating a pool of talent from which the first team can draw on.
