The Big Sky Conference (BSC) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I with football competing in the Football Championship Subdivision. As of 2023, full member institutions are located in the states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. Two affiliate members from California are football–only participants.
The Great West Conference (GWC) was an NCAA college athletic conference in the continental United States. Originally a football-only league, it became an all-sports entity during the 2008–09 season. The GWC stopped sponsoring football following the 2011 season. The conference became defunct when four of the remaining five full member schools became members of other conferences on July 1, 2013.
The Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament is the conference championship tournament in men's basketball for the Big Sky Conference. The event has been held annually since 1976, the conference's thirteenth year.
The Pacific Coast Softball Conference (PCSC) was an NCAA Division I conference that only sponsored women's softball. It was founded in 2002, beginning play in spring 2003, with six members in the Western United States. The PCSC expanded to 12 members for the 2009–10 school year, and maintained that size for three seasons, but major conference realignment first decimated the conference and then led to its demise after the 2013 softball season.
Portland State Vikings is the nickname of the NCAA-affiliated, intercollegiate athletic teams representing Portland State University of Portland, Oregon. The Vikings compete at the NCAA Division I level in basketball, soccer, volleyball, golf, tennis, softball, indoor and outdoor track and field, and cross country. The university has been a member of the Big Sky Conference since 1996. Along with the other Big Sky football programs, Viking football takes-part in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), formerly known as NCAA Division I-AA.
The Boise State Broncos are the intercollegiate athletic teams that represent Boise State University, located in Boise, Idaho. The Broncos compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level as a member of the Mountain West Conference (MW). The Broncos have a successful athletic program overall, winning the WAC commissioner's cup for the 2005–06 and 2009–10 years. Boise State joined the MW on July 1, 2011.
The Idaho State Bengals are the varsity intercollegiate athletic teams representing Idaho State University, located in Pocatello, Idaho. The university sponsors thirteen teams including men and women's basketball, cross country, tennis, and track and field; women's-only golf, soccer, softball, and volleyball; and men's-only football. The Bengals compete at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level and are currently a member institution of the Big Sky Conference.
The Sacramento State Hornets is the team that represents California State University, Sacramento in Sacramento, the capital city of the U.S. state of California, in intercollegiate athletics.
The 2015 Big Sky Conference women's basketball tournament was held March 11–14, 2015. The champion of the tournament received an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA tournament.
The 2015 Big East Conference softball tournament was held at The Ballpark at Rosemont in Rosemont, Illinois. The tournament, hosted by DePaul University, ran May 8 through May 9, 2015 and determined the champion for the Big East Conference for the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. Top-seeded St. John's won the tournament for the first time and earned the Big East Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament. The entire tournament was broadcast on Fox Sports 2. Eric Collins and Brooke Weisbrod served as the broadcasters for Fox.
The 2015 Big South Conference softball tournament was held at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium in Buies Creek, North Carolina, from May 7 through May 10, 2015. The tournament winner, Longwood, earned the Big South Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I softball tournament, where they defeated Virginia Tech but were eliminated by Tennessee and Utah.
The 2015–16 Montana Grizzlies basketball team represented the University of Montana during the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Grizzlies, led by second year head coach Travis DeCuire, played their home games at Dahlberg Arena and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 21–12, 14–4 in Big Sky play to finish in second place. They defeated Sacramento State and Idaho to advance to the championship game of the Big Sky tournament where they lost to Weber State. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Nevada.
The Idaho Vandals women's basketball team represents the University of Idaho in women's basketball in the Big Sky Conference in NCAA Division I. Home games are played on campus at Idaho Central Credit Union Arena in Moscow, Idaho.
The 2016 Big Sky Conference women's basketball tournament was a tournament from March 7–12, 2016. This was the first year in which all Big Sky members competed in the conference tournament. All 12 teams met at the Reno Events Center for the right to advance to the 2016 NCAA tournament. The arena seats roughly 5,000. Idaho defeated Idaho State to win their 2nd Big Sky tournament title for the first time since 1985 before returning to the Big Sky in 2014 and earn an automatic trip to the NCAA women's tournament.

The Vandals, led by eighth year head coach Don Verlin, played their home games at the Cowan Spectrum, with a few early season games at Memorial Gym, and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the season 21–13, 12–6 record in Big Sky play to finish in third place. They defeated Eastern Washington in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky tournament to advance to the semifinals where they lost to Montana. They were invited to the College Basketball Invitational where they lost in the first round to Seattle.

The 1993 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament was the eighteenth edition, held March 11–13 at the Kibbie Dome at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho.
The 1994 Big Sky Conference men's basketball tournament was the nineteenth edition, held March 10–12 at the BSU Pavilion at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho.
The 2016–17 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 2016–17 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Vandals, led by ninth-year head coach Don Verlin, played their home games at the Cowan Spectrum, with a few early season games at Memorial Gym, in Moscow, Idaho and were members of the Big Sky Conference. They finished the regular season 19–14, 12–6 in Big Sky play to finish in a tie for third place. Big Sky tournament. They defeated Montana in the quarterfinals of the Big Sky tournament before losing in the semifinals to North Dakota. They were invited to the CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Stephen F. Austin before losing in the second round to Texas State.
The 2019 NCAA Division I Softball season, play of college softball in the United States organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began February 7, 2019. The season will progress through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and will conclude with the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament and 2019 Women's College World Series. The Women's College World Series, consisting of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA Tournament will be held annually in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium, will end in June 2019.
