The 2015 CONSUR Women's Sevens was an Olympic qualification tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics which was held in Santa Fe, Argentina from 5-7 June 2015. [1] The tournament was played in a round-robin format, with the top team qualifying directly to the Olympics, and the second and third place teams qualifying for the Final Olympic Qualification Tournament.
Colombia qualified for the Olympics [2] [3] [4] [5] while runners-up, Argentina, and third placed, Venezuela, qualified for the repechage tournament in Ireland.

South American Rugby Championship refers to the continental rugby championships for South America, organized by Sudamérica Rugby. The current name of the championships is South American Six Nations, implemented in 2018. Throughout history, South American Championships have also existed for lower divisions of the rugby union championships, as well as youth and women tournaments, and editions for rugby sevens.
In the Americas Region for 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifying, Argentina had automatically qualified for the World Cup, and two places were available in the Americas qualification process, which were taken by Canada and the United States. An additional Americas team, Uruguay, also qualified as the Play-off winner.

French athletes had appeared in every Summer Olympic Games of the modern era, alongside Australia, Great Britain, and Greece. The French Olympic Committee sent its largest ever delegation in Olympic history outside of when it was the host nation, with a total of 401 athletes, 232 men and 169 women, competing in all sports, except field hockey.
