The 2015 CONSUR Men's Sevens championship was an Olympic qualification tournament for rugby sevens at the 2016 Summer Olympics which was held in Santa Fe, Argentina on 5-7 June 2015. [1] It was the tenth edition of the CONSUR Sevens. The tournament used a round-robin format, with the winners (Argentina) qualifying directly to the Olympics, and the second and third place teams (Uruguay and Chile respectively) qualifying for the Final Olympic Qualification Tournament.

Chile national rugby union team


The Chilean national rugby union team represents Chile in men's international rugby union; it is organised by the Chilean Rugby Federation. Nicknamed Los Cóndores, they play in red and white jerseys. They are currently ranked 23rd in the world by World Rugby, making them the third highest-ranked nation in South America.

Sudamérica Rugby, is the governing body for rugby union within South America and most of Central America. It was created on 14 October 1988 in Asunción on the initiative of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay, counting with a total of 16 unions.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification is the qualifying process which will decide 31 of the 32 teams that will participate in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, joining hosts Qatar, who received an automatic spot.

In the Americas Region for 2015 Rugby World Cup qualifying, Argentina had automatically qualified for the World Cup, and two places were available in the Americas qualification process, which were taken by Canada and the United States. An additional Americas team, Uruguay, also qualified as the Play-off winner.

The Argentina women's national rugby sevens team has been the second most successful team in South America after Brazil. At the CONSUR Women's Sevens, Argentina has been runner-up three times.
