The 2015 Giro d'Italia Femminile, or 2015 Giro Rosa, was the 26th running of the Giro d'Italia Femminile, the only remaining women's Grand Tour and the most prestigious stage race on the 2015 women's road cycling calendar. [1] [2] It was held between 3 and 12 July 2015 over ten stages, which contained the customary high mountain stages, a prologue held in Slovenia, as well as an individual time trial during the final week.

Stage 5

8 July 2015 Trezzo sull'Adda to Aprica, 131.4 km (81.6 mi)

Stage 5 marked the first summit finish of the race, with a 15-kilometre (9.3-mile) climb up to the ski resort at Aprica. The average gradient of the climb was 3% with some sections over 10%. [9]

11 July 2015 Pisano to Nebbiuno, 21.7 km (13.5 mi), individual time trial (ITT)

The riders tackled the 21.7-kilometre (13.5-mile) stage, starting in the region of Vergante, Piedmont. The route was described as containing technical and rolling terrain, concluding in a 4-kilometre (2.5-mile) climb to Comnago. [15]

The 1952 Giro d'Italia was the 35th edition of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tours. The Giro started off in Milan on 17 May with a 217 km (134.8 mi) flat stage and concluded back in Milan with a 147 km (91.3 mi) relatively flat mass-start stage on 8 June. Sixteen teams entered the race, which was won by Italian Fausto Coppi of the Bianchi team. Second and third respectively were Italian Fiorenzo Magni and Swiss rider Ferdinand Kübler.

The 1962 Giro d'Italia was the 45th running of the Giro d'Italia, one of cycling's Grand Tour races. The Giro started in Milan, on 19 May, with a 185 km (115.0 mi) stage and concluded back in Milan, on 9 June, with a 160 km (99.4 mi) leg. A total of 130 riders from 13 teams entered the 21-stage race, which was won by Italian Franco Balmamion of the Carpano team. The second and third places were taken by Italian riders Imerio Massignan and Nino Defilippis, respectively.

The 1932 Giro d'Italia was the 20th edition of the Giro d'Italia, organized and sponsored by the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. The race began on 14 May in Milan with a stage that stretched 207 km (129 mi) to Vicenza, finishing back in Milan on 5 June after a 271 km (168 mi) stage and a total distance covered of 3,235 km (2,010 mi). Fifteen teams entered the race, which was won by Swiss Carlo Clerici of the Welter team. Second and third respectively were Swiss rider Hugo Koblet and Italian Nino Assirelli.

The 1948 Giro d'Italia was the 31st edition of the Giro d'Italia, organized and sponsored by the newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport. The race began on 15 May in Milan with a stage that stretched 190 km (118 mi) to Turin, finishing back in Milan on 6 June after a 231 km (144 mi) stage and a total distance covered of 4,164 km (2,587 mi). The race was won by the Italian rider Fiorenzo Magni of the Wilier Triestina team, with fellow Italians Ezio Cecchi and Giordano Cottur coming in second and third respectively.

It was held over eight stages between 30 June and 7 July 2013, starting in Giovinazzo, Apulia, and finishing with an individual time trial in Cremona, Lombardy.

The 2014 Giro del Trentino is the 38th edition of the Giro del Trentino cycling stage race. It started on 22 April in Riva del Garda and will end on 25 April on the top of Monte Bondone. The race will consist of four stages; it started with a team time trial on the same route of the first stage in the 2012 edition of the race, and will end on Monte Bondone for the queen stage. The race was part of the 2014 UCI Europe Tour, and was rated as a 2.HC event.
