The Karnataka State Film Awards 2015, presented by Government of Karnataka, to felicitate the best of Kannada Cinema released in the year 2015. [1] The ceremony was held in Bengaluru on 13 November 2016. [2]

Lifetime achievement award

For the first time a separate jury was appointed to select the Lifetime Achievement Awards under the chairmanship of veteran director S. K. Bhagavan. [3]

Singanalluru Puttaswamaiah Muthuraj, better known by his stage name Dr. Rajkumar, was an Indian actor and singer in Kannada cinema. Arundhati Nag is an Indian film and theatre actress. She has been involved with multilingual Theatre in India, for over 25 years, first in Mumbai where she got involved with Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA), and did various productions in Gujarati, Marathi, and Hindi theatre, and then in Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and English, in Bangalore.

Karnataka State Film Awards are the most notable and prestigious film awards given for Kannada film industry in Karnataka, India. These are considered the highest awards for Kannada language films. They are given annually to honor the best talents and provide encouragement and incentive to the Kannada film industry by the Government of Karnataka.

Jadalathimmanahalli Krishnappa Srinivasa Murthy, known popularly as Srinivasa Murthy, is an Indian actor and television director. He is mostly known for his work as a director having made many television series in Kannada, beginning in 2001, based on the lives of various Kannada philosophers and poets, and adaptations of the works of popular Kannada writers. As an actor, he is known for his work in Kannada cinema, appearing often in supporting roles. He began his career as a stage artiste in both professional and amateur theatre, before taking to films in 1977. Known for his graceful acting, he is a disciplined actor who has carved out a niche in historical and emotional roles, and is a two-time recipient of the Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actor. His elder son Naveen Krishna is also an actor in Kannada films.
