The parade this year included the Suvorov Military School and the Nakhimov Naval School for the first time in four years, and the first appearance from a Cossack cadet corps unit, joining the more than 11,000 service personnel that marched on Red Square, and the return of the full air fly over after two years. The BTR82A IFV made its parade debut this year as part of the mobile column. Sevastopol in Ukraine, where the Black Sea Fleet is based, and 23 other Russian cities will also hold parades on this day. As per tradition Kharkiv and Odessa in Ukraine also hold a full commemorative parade on this day as well.

The 2010 Minsk Victory Day Parade was a parade that took place in Minsk, Belarus to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the Great Patriotic War. Delivering the annual holiday address was President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. The parade took place on Minsk's Victors Avenue on May 9. Inspecting the parade was the Minister of Defense Lieutenant General Yuri Zhadobin. Commanding the parade was the Deputy Minister of Defense, Major General Mikhail Puzikov. 350,000 people attended the parade according to the presidential office. 30,000 servicemen from the Border, Transport and Interior Troops, as well as the Minsk Suvorov Military School took part in the parade. Troops from Russia and Ukraine also took part in the parade. Almost 130 military vehicles participated in the mobile section of the parade, which ended with an exhibition of military drill by Honor Guard of the Armed Forces of Belarus and a piece from the Central Band of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus performed during the parade.

The Military Band Service of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus is the central military band service of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The band was formed on 1 April 1950 as the Band of the Belorussian Military District. It was expanded into a service in the 1990s after the Independence of Belarus occurred. It's bands participate in military parades, military tattoos, and official ceremonies of Belarus. They perform domestically, regularly performing in the Central Officers House in Minsk, as well as other garrison clubs. The massed bands of the Minsk Garrison is an annual participant in the parades of the Minsk Garrison on Victors Avenue since 2004. The repertoire of the band includes more than 500 compositions of the most important classical music composers and contemporary ones. Bands have performed in festivals in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany, France, Poland, Sweden, and Russia. The band has also played in the Spasskaya Tower military tattoo in 2013, 2016, and 2017. The band is commanded by its Senior Director of Music/Chief Conductor, Lieutenant Colonel Igor Khlebus, since 2019. The artistic director of the band is Colonel Evgueny Dovzhik.

This parade is held annually in Minsk on July 3 and is one of the most frequently held military parades in Eastern Europe, as well as the former Soviet Union. It is held every year except years that celebrate Victory Day, to which Victory Day Parades are held.
The Honor Guard Company of the Minsk Military Commandant of the Armed Forces of Belarus, also known as the Honor Guard of the Armed Forces of Belarus is an honor guard unit of the Armed Forces of Belarus. The company was formed on 22 January 1995 as a unit from the Minsk Air Defense and Rocket School and the Minsk Higher Military Command School. To become a member of the honor guard of Belarus, one should be at least 185 cm and have strong health features. It was later made into an independent unit on 17 February. Daily training in the company lasts at least 6 hours. The company is made up of 144 military men, all of whom takes part in ceremonies in celebrations in Belarus and other countries, such as China, France, Poland, Qatar, Russia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

This year for the first time, in the Victory Day parade in Moscow, it was planned that armored vehicles from the Red Army during the Russian Civil War would be to take part in the parade mobile column, the planned appearance was called off, and the 154th Preobrazhensky Independent Commandant's Regiment's 1st Honor Guard Company took part in the exhibition drill segment of the parade together with a drumline from the Moscow Military Music College, the first time it had been done since the parade of 2007 and a recent tradition which began in the 2001 parade.
