The 2015 Oceania Rugby Under 20s, was the first edition of the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship. It was played as two tournaments; the Oceania Under 20 Championship hosted on the Gold Coast in Australia, [1] and the Oceania Under 20 Trophy hosted in Suva, Fiji. [2]
The Championship tournament was played in May and won by New Zealand, who defeated Australia by 46–29 in the last match of the round-robin competition. A planned tournament for a further six national under 20 sides was postponed, [3] [4] [5] however the Trophy competition was eventually played in December and won by Fiji, who defeated Tonga by 19–10 in the last round to qualify for the World Rugby U20 Trophy in 2016. The Pacific Nations Cup is an international rugby union competition held between three Pacific states: Fiji, Samoa and Tonga. The 2019 edition of the tournament also included the national teams of Canada, Japan and United States. First held in 2006, the tournament is intended to strengthen the Tier 2 rugby teams by providing competitive test matches in a tournament format.

The 2012 Pacific Rugby Cup was the seventh edition of the Pacific Rugby Cup competition. The tournament featured national 'A' teams from the three Pacific rugby unions as well as Super Rugby development teams from Australia and New Zealand.
The 2013 Pacific Rugby Cup was the eighth edition of the Pacific Rugby Cup competition. The tournament featured national 'A' teams from Fiji, Samoa, and Tonga, and the Junior Japan team which was added for the 2013 tournament. The format involved touring to play against Super Rugby development teams from Australia and New Zealand, and was intended include a round robin stage between the four core teams, but this leg of the tournament was cancelled to allow preparation for the end-of-year internationals.
The 2013 Pacific Rugby Cup was the eighth edition of the Pacific Rugby Cup competition. The tournament featured national 'A' rugby union teams from Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Japan and Argentina. Additionally, four Super Rugby development sides joined the five Pacific sides as core teams for the first time. These Australian teams had previously only been opposition sides for the core teams and were not in contention for the title.

The 2018 Oceania Rugby Under 20s, was the fourth edition of the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship. Tonga played in the tournament for the first time, replacing Samoa from the previous year and joining Fiji, New Zealand and hosts Australia at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
The 2019 Oceania Rugby Under 20s, was the fifth edition of the Oceania Rugby Junior Championship. Japan returned to the Championship tournament for the first time since 2015, replacing Tonga from the previous year and joining Fiji, New Zealand, and hosts Australia for the three-round tournament at Bond University on the Gold Coast.
The 2021 Oceania Rugby Under 20 Championship, was a planned competition for national junior men's rugby union teams that was cancelled due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first division Oceania Junior Championship was originally scheduled for July as a two-match series between Australia and New Zealand at Bond University on the Gold Coast, but was initially postponed due to Australian border restrictions associated with the pandemic, then subsequently cancelled. New Zealand played some domestic Under-20 fixtures during June and July, but Australia suspended its Junior Wallabies program for the year. The lower division Oceania Under 20 Trophy match between Samoa and Tonga planned for 22 May was also cancelled due to travel restrictions related to the pandemic.
The 2019 Oceania Rugby Women's Championship that was held in Fiji, was the 2021 Rugby World Cup qualifier for the Oceania region. The tournament was played at Churchill Park in Lautoka from 18–30 November 2019, with six teams entered. Australia and New Zealand sent development teams, having already qualified for the 2021 World Cup.
