The Rochester Knighthawks were a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League. They played in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The Knighthawks were previously members of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League from 1995 to 1997. They were members of the NLL since the league's inaugural 1998 season.

Rochester is a city on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in western New York. With a population of 208,046 residents, Rochester is the seat of Monroe County and the third most populous city in New York state, after New York City and Buffalo. The metropolitan area has a population of just over 1 million people. It is about 73 miles (117 km) east of Buffalo and 87 miles (140 km) west of Syracuse.

National Lacrosse League semi-professional indoor lacrosse league

The National Lacrosse League (NLL) is a men's professional box lacrosse league in North America. Headquartered in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, the NLL currently has thirteen teams: eight in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the NHL and NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the National Lacrosse League Cup. The NLL has averaged between 9,800 and 10,700 spectators per game each year since 2004.

Paul Dawson is a lacrosse player who plays defense for the Rochester Knighthawks. His older brother Dan, plays for the San Diego Seals.

Ian Llord is a professional lacrosse player who plays for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League and the Six Nations Chiefs of Major Series Lacrosse.

Sid Smith is an Iroquois lacrosse player who plays for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League.

Forwards

Dan Dawson is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League, Brampton Excelsiors (MSL) of Major Series Lacrosse, and is currently a free agent in Major League Lacrosse. Dawson ranks 10th on the all-time NLL points list as of the end of the 2011 season. He is a 7 time NLL All Pro selection. As a professional, he is a 7 time Mann Cup Canadian box lacrosse champion, and a 1 time Major League Lacrosse (field) champion (2009 Toronto Nationals. Representing Canada, Dawson has won two World Indoor Lacrosse Championship titles and was a finalist in the 2010 World Lacrosse Championship. Dawson has won two Champion's Cups as a member of the Rochester Knighthawks in 2013 and 2014.

Cody Jamieson lacrosse player

Cody Jamieson is a Mohawk lacrosse player from the Turtle Clan at Grand River. He plays for the Halifax Thunderbirds of the National Lacrosse League, the New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse, and the Six Nations Chiefs in Major Series Lacrosse. Jamieson is a former attack man for Syracuse University, where he obtained a degree in Communications.

Craig Point, is an Iroquois lacrosse player who currently plays for the Rochester Knighthawks of the National Lacrosse League and the Six Nations Chiefs of Major Series Lacrosse. He was born in Ohsweken, Ontario, and comes from the Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation.

Jordan Rhys Hall is a Canadian lacrosse player from Surrey, British Columbia who plays for the Rochester Knighthawks in the National Lacrosse League and the Hamilton Nationals of Major League Lacrosse.

Brad Self lacrosse player

Brad Self was a dual-sport athlete who is currently a lacrosse player for the Colorado Mammoth of the National Lacrosse League and the Peterborough Lakers of Major Series Lacrosse league. He has also played professional ice hockey in Germany. Brad Self is a Transition player, recently traded to the Colorado Mammoth at the NLL trade deadline. Selected in the second round of the 2001 entry draft 18th overall. Brad Self was a member of the Rochester Knighthawks during their three-peat championships in 2012,13, and 14.
