Florida Gulf Coast Eagles

The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles refer to the fifteen sports teams representing Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, Florida in intercollegiate athletics, including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and tennis; women's-only: softball, swimming and diving, indoor volleyball, and sand volleyball; and men's-only: baseball. The Eagles compete in the NCAA Division I and are members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). FGCU is also notable as the youngest institution competing in NCAA Division I, having been officially founded in 1991 and started classes in 1997. Their mascot is Azul the Eagle.

Robert "Bob" Butehorn is an American soccer coach who currently coaches the South Florida Bulls men's soccer program. Butehorn attended the University of Tampa, where he was part of the team's 1981 NCAA Division II Soccer Championship run. He previously served as the head coach for the Florida Gulf Coast Eagles men's soccer program.

The 2015 Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Soccer Tournament was the 37th edition of the tournament. It determined the Atlantic Sun Conference's automatic berth into the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.

The 2015–16 Florida Gulf Coast Eagles women's basketball team will represent Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Eagles, led by fourteenth year head coach Karl Smesko, played their home games at Alico Arena and were members of the Atlantic Sun Conference. They finish the season 33–6, 14–0 in A-Sun play to win the Atlantic Sun regular season title. They advanced to the championship game of the A-Sun Women's Tournament where they lost to Jacksonville. They received an automatic bid to the Women's National Invitation Tournament where they advanced to the championship game where they lost to South Dakota.

They finish the season 26–9, 12–2 in A-Sun play to finish in second place. They defeated North Florida, Jacksonville and Stetson to become champions of the ASUN Tournament and received an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tournament where they lost to Miami (FL) in the first round.

As the No. 1 seed in the ASUN Tournament, they defeated Stetson, Kennesaw State, and North Florida to win the tournament championship. As a result, they received the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament where they lost in the first round to Florida State.

The 2017–18 North Florida Ospreys men's basketball team represented the University of North Florida during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They were led by ninth–year head coach Matthew Driscoll and played their home games at UNF Arena on the university's campus in Jacksonville, Florida as members of the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). The Ospreys finished the season 14–19, 7–7 in ASUN play to finish in a tie for fourth place. In the ASUN Tournament, they defeated NJIT before losing in the semifinals to Florida Gulf Coast.

The 2017 Atlantic Sun Conference Women's Soccer Tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Atlantic Sun Conference held from October 28 through November 5, 2017. The first round of the tournament was held at campus sites, with the higher seed hosting. The semifinals and final took place at Lipscomb Soccer Complex in Nashville, Tennessee, home of the Lipscomb Bisons, the regular season co-champions and tournament #1 seed. The six-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Florida Gulf Coast Eagles were the defending tournament champions and successfully defended their title, defeating the Lipscomb Bisons in double overtime in the final. The conference tournament title was the sixth for the Florida Gulf Coast women's soccer program, all of which came under the direction of head coach Jim Blankenship.

The 2017 Atlantic Sun Conference men's soccer season was the 40th season of men's varsity soccer in the conference. The regular season began on August 25, 2017 and ended on October 28, 2017. The regular season culminated with the 2017 Atlantic Sun Men's Soccer Tournament, which was held from November 3–11, 2017. The tournament determined the conference's tournament champion, and automatic berth into the 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Tournament.

The 2018 Atlantic Sun Men's Basketball Tournament was the conference postseason tournament for the Atlantic Sun Conference. The tournament was the 39th year the league has conducted a postseason tournament. The tournament was held February 26, March 1, and 4, 2018 at campus sites of the higher seeds. Lipscomb defeated regular season champion Florida Gulf Coast in the tournament championship to receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, the school's first trip to the NCAA Tournament.
