Uzbekistan hosted the tournament from 6 to 9 August 2016. [1] A total of six teams played in the tournament, with players born on or after 1 January 1997 eligible to participate.
Uzbekistan emerged as the inaugural champions of the first-ever CAFA tournament by defeating the Kyrgyz Republic 1–0 in the final match. [2] [3]
