In April, the Official World Golf Ranking announced that all MENA Golf Tour events would be awarded points, beginning with the Ras Al Khaimah Classic. [1]

Order of Merit

The Order of Merit was based on prize money won during the season, calculated in U.S. dollars. [3] The top three players on the tour earned status to play on the 2017–18 Sunshine Tour. [3]

Justin Peter Rose, is an English professional golfer. Rose first achieved significant media attention when he finished fourth place at the 1998 Open Championship as an amateur. He turned pro the next day but struggled during his first couple years as a professional, making few cuts. For the 2000–01 season the tour rebranded itself as the Sunshine Tour in an attempt to broaden its appeal. A large majority of the tour events are still staged in South Africa.
